Greetings! How are you today? I hope you're having an amazing day. I'm doing well physically, but feeling a bit tired. Today, I want to share a story about something that happened at school two days ago. We had our "Exam Result Slip Collection Day," where all the parents were invited to the event. Usually, the turnout is quite disappointing. To boost attendance, the organizing committee came up with a brilliant idea.
We decided to collect used clothing from the staff and teachers, items they no longer wear regularly. To our surprise, we ended up with hundreds of pieces of clothing ready to be donated. These clothes were sold at the school market for RM1 each. By the end of the day, we had made around RM700 from the sales, which really amazed us! It seems the parents were very interested, and most importantly, almost all the unused clothing was in excellent condition. It was hard to find anything torn or worn out. It was a job well done.
That day, my responsibilities included ensuring there were enough chairs, making sure the PA system was working properly, and ensuring the LCD projector was functioning. I’m proud to say I did my job well. What surprised me the most was the number of parents who attended. It was three times more than usual! I was so busy looking for extra chairs that we ran out, and unfortunately, some parents who arrived late had to stand. We even had a police officer invited to give a brief speech at the event. He talked about the dangers of drugs and shared some crime statistics related to drug addiction. It was eyeopening to see how close this issue is to our community and how important it is to raise awareness. The parents were very engaged, asking questions about the problem and how to address it. The police officer spoke for about two hours on the subject.
The day ended nicely. We were thrilled with the cooperation from the parents, and the students seemed happier seeing their parents show concern about their studies. That’s all for today. I wish everyone an amazing day!!
