Working on a mountainous field with a vast plantation of sweet potatoes may be difficult especially if most of the works are done manually. The last time, when I visited a farm, I saw how the workers were so dedicated to their work despite the heat of the Sun and rain.
Who would think that a beautiful view was a wide plantation of sweet potatoes? I have mentioned in my previous post that I was lost in the defeaning silence when my feet led me to Pungol, Libona, Bukidnon, Philippines and I got unplugged too. Aside from having no mobile signal, there was no internet connection too so it was a perfect moment to relax for a while as I stayed in the hut at the farm.
The last time I was here, I enjoyed the slopes with the plantation of sweet peppers and now another variety was planted. Going here was like trekking since the field was full of slopes. And I was quite surprised while looking at how much the sweet potatoes have grown well. It was also a great moment to take candid poses with the evergreen scenery.
Filipinos are known to be hardworking and I am so impressed with how the workers on the farm have done their work so well even without the presence of the boss. While sitting at the hut, the workers came to fetch water from the river. Some were bringing a huge barrel for water containers and the others were bringing sacks of fertilizers, and sprays too.
I wanted to go near the river and follow the workers but when I tried stepping my feet on the field, the sweet potato was so thick and there were weeds too. It was hard for me to walk through the fields due to the moist ground and I was only wearing slippers. How I wish I was wearing boots so it would be convenient to walk through the slopes.
Although I have not gone near the river, still I enjoyed the evergreen scenery and the relaxing moment. So happy I was watching the workers loving their work and I wondered how they were so energetic all day. The green fields surrounded by the spectacular clouds in a blue sky had even made the atmosphere more lively. I must say that it was a nice time to be unplugged for a while as I enjoyed the simple life in the province.
