For the challenge this week given by @justinparke, I was a bit troubled by the @asean.hive community photography challenge, "Finding Yellow Everywhere," since I am not a fan of the color.
Although there is no particular reason why I hate or don't like yellow, the last time I dealt with the particular color was during the election of the late President Ninoy Aquino, as one of his supporters.
Despite these circumstances, I really want to join every weekly challenge. I don't want to miss the fun and excitement of reading other stories and sharing experiences. As I was thinking about what to do with the challenge, I did a little research, and did you know that yellow represents joy, happiness, and hope? If you didn't know this yet, try sunbathing early in the morning and feel the warmth of the sunlight as it touches your skin. It's as if the sunlight is giving you something to improve your mood. Another example is that when a newborn baby is a bit yellowish, a traditional home remedy that works effectively to cure this skin problem is to soak the baby in sunlight, but not during the midday sun. Just the sunlight around early in the morning, roughly from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., as my mother instructed me.
As they say, the best camera is the one in your hand. I managed to find some amazing yellow shots that I would like to share with the community.
It was a coincidence that my kids' breakfast was all yellow. They love to eat eggs for breakfast. During this flu bug season, in addition to vitamins and minerals, we also do some homemade remedies to boost their immune system, like letting them drink honey and lemon juice every morning.
After breakfast, I took some time to play with my kids. They requested to play in a basin by asking me to create a boat. Then the idea struck me: I do manage to know some origami tricks, so why not teach them? I selected and grabbed an unused piece of yellow cartolina paper for us to use.
This was our origami output. It was a bit rough-made, but the family time we shared together was priceless. We made some simple origami animals, such as penguins, seals, pigs, and the most famous and common, swans. The boat was excluded as it was immediately thrown out of the basin.
Another coincidence: My wife has a little pisonet business in our hometown. She told me to buy a system unit immediately to replace the defective units. I found out that only one unit was left working properly out of four units. Since the cargo companies are a bit pricey, I opted out and tried asking local bus transit if they would allow me to deliver my package without me accompanying it. Luckily, it went well. A little trivia: Did you know that Bacolod City is the main office of Vallacar Transit, most commonly known as Ceres Liner?
Since the company color brand is obviously yellow, I even took a picture of their seats. Yes! all possible areas that could be painted yellow, they do it.
Before I went home, I dropped by to buy some fruits for the kids. Look how beautiful and delicious the fruits are, ready to be munched. Can you spot how many yellow-colored fruits are in the photo? I would love to hear your answer in the comment section.
It is amazing that all of these photos were taken on the spot. It was never planned. I even decided that if I ever join the photography contest, my entry would just be our little origami project. Again, thank you for taking some time to drop by and read my blog. I appreciate it very much.
