Belated Happy Valentine's to everyone! Sorry, if I wasn't around for a while as I am occupied with my little business. I do everything from advertising, responding to inquiries, production, costing, packaging, and handing the orders. Whew! I barely had sleep for two days but this got me amazed once again with myself because once again, I was able to meet deadlines.
I made three designs for this year's Valentine's celebration. One design for a 7 inches size heart and two designs for the 4 inches size heart. Guess I did better on the design this time because I received lots of inquiries and eventually had orders. I had five orders. Yup, not a lot but it was already an achievement for me because it was better than last year where I had none.

Most of my cutsomers come from neighboring towns and cities, while there were also few coming from further towns which really amazes me. Just like my first customer who traveled an hour and a half just to purchase a jelly cake. According to her, I was the nearest who makes such cakes.
I guess the first customer was really impressed because she asked if I make birthday jelly cakes too and told she'll get back when she orders again. ♡
The second customer also ordered same design as what I had advertised and liked it as well. Unlike the first one, this customer resides on the same town and it makes me wonder if she's related to a high school friend because they have the same surnames. Unfortunately, she had someone picked up the cake so I wasn't able to ask her.
I made one minor mistake on this cake though. I used the wrong tool for one of the white flowers. I mistakenly used the tool for the leaf instead of the petals. Hopefully they don't notice. Yikes! But it still look good nonetheless. Hehe!
Meanwhile, the third customer requested the lettering to be altered. She's dedicating the cake for her mother. What a sweet daughter! I had a minor error for this cake but thankfully, her mother was still impressed and loved the cake according to her.
I also had two orders for the 4 inches sizes. One requested to alter the color because she'll give it as a surprise gift to her boyfriend. How sweet, isn't it?
The last one was a buzzer beater but still made it to the cut off. He requested a different design which left me a bit worried and mentally unprepared. He sent me a design to imitate but some of details won't fit into the small cake. Glad he was lenient and agreed to my suggestion. I created a design similar to the reference he sent and I'm glad that he really loved it because he kept praising it. Lol. This even surprisingly turned out to be my favorite design!
I also included a candle and Valentine cake topper for each of the 7 inches size cake. Surprisingly, I only have three cake topper available and three cake boards and cake containers left for this size. I was right not to accept more orders after the cut off after all.
On the other hand, I placed the 4 inches size cakes on small boxes that is also presentable enough as a gift.
I wish I could do more cakes in the future. It's nice to see them stacked on the chiller and seeing these makes me feel how lucky I am to have been trusted by people to have my cakes be a part of their very special celebration.
Also, one thing to keep your customer's trust is to make the products on time. I always make sure to finish and unmold the cakes the night before and prepare them ready for pick up early in the morning so they can pick it up in case they change their pick up time to an earlier time.
And that's how my Valentine's went for this year. No dates, just cakes! Lol. It felt very fulfilling to be able to satisfy my customer's requests and hearing good feed backs from them was more than enough for me.
Next occasion to prepare for is Mother's Day! Hopefully, I'll get orders as well!
