It's still peak season for my work. Supposedly, I should be out to work overtime on Sunday, but I did not do so as my whole family members including me are sick or keep coughing. I just go to my workplace and take some documentation for work from home today. In the same time, I have to go to the pharmacy to buy medicine supplies for home.
@butwo picked me up from home at noon. Before heading to my workplace, we headed to pharmacy first then next to Lido Square for lunch. Lido Square area is always a jam-packed area and parking is hard to find almost everyday. The reason for it is because this place is well known for it wet market, food courts, many old restaurants with delicious food, one of the oldest KFC branches in Sabah, lottery shops, clinics, and many mores. In addition, Lido Square existed before the highway surrounding this place was built and when I was a kid-aged (currently, I'm a middle-aged lady).
It's rainy season and I'm coughing. I don't feel like to eat fried food. I just led @butwo to eat Bakuteh with rice at my favorite restaurant. Bakuteh is a Chinese food for it pork stew in herbal broth.
Talking about Bakuteh, when my sibling and I were still young, we felt damn happy when my parents brought us out for family dinner to eat Bakuteh. Bakuteh is considered a luxury food and only one or two restaurants sold this food over 2 decades ago. Nowadays, many restaurants sell Bakuteh here and there. However, it cannot compare to this old restaurant especially on the Bakuteh's delicious taste where my parent always bring us during the old time.
I am amazed that the business owner who does the labor work on preparing the Bakuteh for the customers has been the same person for over 25 years. The business owner is a lot older than my parents and she look healthier than my parents. Up till now, I did not see any youngsters helping the old business owner in cooking work before. I wonder, will this Bakuteh's recipe be able to be passed down to future generations. I'm feel sad when thinking if this Bakuteh not selling anymore in the future.
@butwo said to me that almost all customers in this restaurant are old. Many customers especially regular customers still enjoy the Bakuteh from this shop despite many competitors outside with good marketing selling the same items. For your information, this restaurant did not advertise their food.
We walked to a stall to buy snacks after lunch. Same as the Bakuteh's restaurant, this stall is still run by the same owner for the same timeline. The difference is that this stall has more manpower and expected will be inherited by his daughter.
I thought the business owner had reached old age a long time ago and now he still looks the same. As a result, I used the term "vampire owner" for him in my sub-title above since he has had a similar face appearance for so many years. In social media, many people said the same opinion with me that why this business owner looks like he did not aging at all.
The snacks sold here are very cheap. The most delicious snacks on the table already sold out such as cha guo (assorted steam dumpling). I love the waffles made by this stall and buy 2 of it for myself. They fill the waffle with a generous amount of their special coconut jam, which I love a lot.
We returned home after getting my documentation from my workplace. We heading out again afterwards. Due to being busy with work, it's been a while since @butwo took my dog Uku Chan for a car ride. Since @butwo got free time today, he brought Uku Chan out for an outing and I tagged along too.
Recently, a new food court opened nearby my house. @butwo just drive there and search for it while Uku Chan enjoys the scenery outside from inside the car. We found the food court, but did not enter it. We just planned our next date for a meal there in the future.
On our way back home, we discovered an old tall tree branch. On top of the tree branch, I found a wok hanging there.
Why is the wok hung there?
Which house of the neighbor hangs the wok?
Many questions @butwo and I discuss (except for Uku Chan) in the car about this tree with the wok. I even showed this picture to my Mum to see if she knew about it. Until now, there has been no answer to this mystery.
That's all. Thanks for reading my post š.
