WATCHING A BIG CONCERT FOR THE FIRST TIME

What's something you ended up doing even though you were scared to do it? I ended up doing this one thing even though I wasn't so sure at first. Watching a concert! Last September, a concert of a Korean group that I love was held in Indonesia, specifically in Jakarta. Although it wasn't the first concert, it was the first big concert I attended. It's not that I never watched music performances or anything like that since I was a kid, because when I was a kid in our villages there were many small music events held. My mom and dad were two important people who influenced me to like music. However, the K-Pop music genre was never present in my house. My mom, dad, and older sister tend to like dangdut or religious songs. Meanwhile, I'm more general in my musical tastes.

SMTOWN CONCERT

Super Junior is a group that I've idolized for years. The members were originally more than ten, but now only nine are still active. SM Entertainmen is the company or label that is waiting for Super Junior in their career. However, the company continuously holds a grand concert that gathers all its idol talents on one stage. The name of this concert is SMTOWN LIVE 2023 SMCU PALACE. The last time this concert was held in Indonesia was eleven years ago, so it's only natural that the enthusiasm of SM Stan is extraordinary (SM Stan is the fandom of SM Entertainment)

At first, I really had no intention of watching this concert, however, a friend of mine suddenly sent me a message inviting me to watch. Strangely, why did I suddenly say yes to my friend's invitation like it was a spontaneous and impulsive decision? After I said yes, we bought the tickets that were sold online on the website provided. I bought cat 5, there were a total of six categories.

I was both excited to meet my idol and worried as I imagined how many people would gather in one place tomorrow!

The promoter appealed to the audience to exchange their wrist bands before the day of the event, so that we wouldn't be crowded on the day of the event. Fortunately, the promoter provided a total of 3 days for exchange. My friend and I exchanged on the day before the event. My friend and I made an appointment at FX Sudirman and then walked across to Gelora Bung Karno from gate number 5.

The exchange was neat, the crew was quick to direct us, and they were very friendly. Little by little I felt somewhat relieved to see the crew from the promoter who seemed trustworthy.

CONCERT DAY!

There was another unique thing about this concert. So, the promoter gave the idea for the audience to use batik dress code! Wow! Batik is an iconic clothing as well as my country's identity. I imagined a stadium wearing batik not even at a formal event but watching a K-Pop concert! I was prepared to wear red batik mixed with black for the top and wear denim jeans to give a casual impression.

I also did not forget to bring the wrist band that I exchanged yesterday, as well as the Super Junior light stick or we call it subong. I also don't forget to read the cadannngan battery because this lightstick will be used for up to four hours during the concert.

My friend and I started lining up to enter according to the designated gate. People started to fill the queue because the concert was about to start in less than an hour. Apparently, I found something new on my side. The fear or anxiety that I had originally thought somehow disappeared today. I felt nervous because for the first time I would see the people I idolized in real life.

After passing through the gate scan wristband, we drove to the venue. As I drove to my numbered seat, I heard our country's national anthem being sung, meaning that the opening of the concert had really begun. I felt very happy. The dark stands contrasted with the magnificent stage. Just counting the minutes, I was going to see Super Junior.

My two friends and I really enjoyed this lively concert. One worry and my wishlist was unlocked! I have incredible memories of that night.
