It is 12:46 midnight here, and I just woke up after getting some rest. It was a really hard day for this week because the main cafe, known as KAFFEW, has been closed for renovation until early next month, tentatively on 1st Jan 2025. There were about 15 vendors (if I'm not mistaken) close to this time period, and they made my workplace become one of some dining spots for this area. This makes my daytime job harder, tripling or even more than usual pace. But, believe it or not, the sales (as I have been told) increase threefold on average every day, which means more people come to our cafe. Anyway, what I really want to tell you is that it was busy and tiring as hell.
Well, today I want to share my morning routine to work. Previously, like I say, I would walk from the house for a few minutes because the bus is not on duty when I walk out from the house. But, in recent weeks, I found out that using bicycles is much faster than walking (if it was). Instead of walking, I would use the bicycles to reach the MRT and save an average of 8 minutes of my walk time. The problem was sometimes there was no available public bicycle being parked for use.
I believe some countries offer this kind of service, where you can use bicycles to move around. It was much cheaper than buying the bicycles themselves. There were 2 kinds of services being offered: one was the HelloRide (the blue) and AnyWheel (the green), which I believe SG 1 for 30 minutes of both of them. I used the blue services to buy 3-month packages, which are much cheaper than using minutes. It costs 33 cents for unlimited 90-day rides.
The best thing was the bicycles were mostly available everywhere. What you needed to do was scan the QR code, unlock it, and use it. Then after you use it, make sure to park in the designated parking area because you can be fined if not parked there. They'll know it because you need to register yourselves for apps to unlock or use it.
