BAUHAUS STORE ON A RAINY AFTERNOON

in #hive-1419959 months ago

It was raining the whole day but the rain was soft and sparse so I wasn't in the mood to stay home all the time. At some point in the early afternoon, bored by more or less everything the Internet offers, I sat in my car and drove to the nearest city to buy one thing that same car needed to look better on the annual roadworthiness test.

The car I have is pretty old, I bought it in 2008. Due to the aging of the material, the steering wheel's surface looks dirty even when I clean the thing thoroughly, so I decided to put a brand-new cover on it.
I went searching for that cover in a place called Bauhaus - the biggest home improvement store in Pula.
In that store on the outskirts of the city, one can find a wide variety of tools, things, and machines that can be used to build or improve stuff in and around a house. The store has a few shelves dedicated to cars as well.
In the opening photograph, you can see the main entrance.

This shot shows the shelves filled with products and accessories for cars.

The parking lot behind the store was wet and the sky above us was covered with a layer of pale gray clouds. It wasn't a great day but it wasn't too bad either.

Here you can see a friend who was there with me exploring one of the colorful shelves.

The shelves in Bauhaus are much higher than those in other stores in Pula. The type of steering wheel cover I needed was on the top of the shelf so one of the employees had to use an interesting indoor vehicle to get it. This shot shows only the upper part of the machine with the Bauhaus employee on the top. His hands were busy searching for the right thing in a pile of different covers.

Here you can see the lower part of the machine.

I used two consecutive shots to clumsily assemble this picture that shows the warehouse lift in all its glory.

(Enlargeable)

It took me a few minutes to mount the cover on the steering wheel outside in the parking lot.

(Enlargeable)

It's a good cover, it feels good in the hands.

The floor tiles displayed in the parking lot look like some sort of modern art.

This severed head equipped with a Ledlenser headlamp also looked like something out of an art exhibition.

Here you can see the well-illuminated shelves that showcase various lamps.

AND THAT'S IT. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.

@borjan Very nice your car, well preserved for the year it has. dis frute your photos.

I love the machine and I can't help but imagine how it works.

🙂

It is a wonderful experience. Keeping an old car isn't bad as long as it is in good condition and fits in our use.

You have used the rainy season very well. The environment of the shop is very well decorated and looks nice.

No post in 7 days? I was beginning to think you'd been kidnapped, arrested (or are they the same thing?) or indeed shuffled off this mortal coil. Hadn't they got any RED steering wheel covers?

Haven't seen a red one, unfortunately. Black was the prevalent color.

😂I got abducted by UFO folks from some distant galaxy a week ago. I was scared a bit at first so I asked "Is this something nefarious? Am I here as a prisoner, food, or laboratory animal?" "Nah" they answered "You looked like you needed a vacation from blogging so we came to rescue you"👽

Me too! I worried. Nice to see @borjan engaging in a mundane shopping trip :)

(You know I tend to hover when I care about people😇)

Always good to get out and about where is humans should be and not cooped up in some corner of the internet.

I’m glad you were able to cover the steering so it will stop looking old even though the car is very old
Also, you took lovely pictures there
They are nice

It's great to see your post again, I got a little concerned when I didn't see a post from in almost a week. The new steering cover looks great.

🙂

Hope you enjoyed the rainy day. Quite busy for me also I'm having exam tomorrow

Sorry for reading the answer you give to the first comment, it's just that I saw an alien and you already know that I like them, well, them they seem nice to me.
For having been kidnapped you arrive the same hahaha, the space beings treat you well, your story in the post is similar to the previous ones, your brain is intact, you were not an experiment in space :)

I think I heard about Bauhaus before. I'm not sure if that one offers the same as the one you shared.

It's nice to see lots of stuff sold in the store.

es un hermoso Toyota. a pesar del tiempo.

It must really have been a wonderful experience that you must have enjoyed every bit of that time over there

Hope you are enjoying that rainy day with this new cover.
Happy Sunday 😀

I also have same weather here. This weather is quite boring but luckily, less cold outside as compared to severe winters..

The store really is well stocked up and I believe they must have a lot of quality therein

So what does the inquisitive Croat do when walking down the pavement is like driving through a car wash with an undercarriage wash, Stanković has invited an absolute dullard to the studio and boredom is slowly but surely starting to take over?
It gets in the car, drives to BAUHAUS and takes a look at what's been going on with screws in the past few weeks. Not that you need any - but it's always good to know where they are in case you do need them. The gigantic range of silicone products is also interesting. Packed in handy packaging and always stocked up when the stuff is needed.
However, and there is no doubt about it, the dream of every hobby woodworker, chainsaw expert and theoretical all-rounder in the craft is and remains a tour through the shop with one of these manoeuvrable electric vehicles, with which even the topmost bag of cement can be transported close to the floor.
The only problem is that none of the guys in the green coats are willing to stop looking very closely for ten minutes. 😌😏🙄
Incidentally, my car is three years older. However, as it has become quite stubborn recently and doesn't seem particularly interested in my wishes, neither does it deserve a new outfit around the steering wheel. 😊

😀 Your car is still young. That's good. I wish him to drive long and prosperous.

This comment made me take a look at the last "On Sunday at 2" after quite a few months of abstinence. 😀 A few minutes of a certain Mario Radich was more than enough. I wasn't aware of this little politician's existence before - I'm barely aware now.

Exploring the Bauhaus world wasn't amazing fun 😂 but it was still better than what the TV world had to offer on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

As I see it, Mario Radić is a cunning, media-savvy string-puller who has always known exactly whose sphere of influence to infiltrate since the end of the war. At the right place at the right time - and you drove shady money home in a wheelbarrow.
If he claims he didn't go into politics to make money, well then I'll take his word for it. He craves control. Especially over whether anyone tries to put the chisel to his pedestal. All the rest is pure arrogance with a dash of hubris.
We will see ...

Ahaaa, that's why I didn't know him ... he's an important figure in the shadows behind the scene not so much in public ...
