I caught this nomia bee (a sweat bee species) one afternoon. While most sweat bees live communally, nomia bees tend to be solitary.
I noticed this wanderer perched quietly on a dry twig. Perhaps he was meditating; I hoped he was not a hermit. Although he's not a bee that makes honey, he's still an important pollinator. The blooming flowers must be waiting to be pollinated by him every morning.
