Cold air immediately attacked when my friends and I got out of the bus. The thick winter jackets we were wearing seemed unable to fight the onslaught of the cold. I don't know how many degrees the winter air temperature was at that time. But one thing is for sure, I have never felt a temperature this cold. All the warmth of my body seemed to be sucked out by the shivering cold temperature.
The soles of our shoes immediately left marks on the clean white snow surface. Several vehicles were cleaning the piles of snow on the road. On the side of the road, several cars were frozen. Piles of snow covered the top of the car, if they could talk, maybe they would also ask to be covered with warm clothes.
People on the streets walked quickly, as if they wanted to fight the cold and save time to get to their destination faster. Houses and shops looked unique. Several roads were covered in piles of snow and there were no snow removal cars there, maybe they only worked on the main roads.
That's the winter view in Park City, Utah, US. When I first arrived there and was greeted by piles of snow, I immediately remembered the movie Cliffhanger starring Slyvester Stallone (1993). I was impressed by the exotic natural scenery in the Utah mountains in the movie. I never thought I would be in that location even though I didn't climb the mountain. It was truly a gift that I should be grateful for my whole life.
I recorded all the beauty there with a pocket camera and posted it in an exotic #monomad frame. Unique buildings, people walking around, my friends who immortalized their existence in Park City, frozen cars, roads full of piles of snow, and whatever objects I found interesting.
As someone who lives in a tropical area like Aceh, Indonesia, I have never experienced a snowy winter. Jokingly, I told people in Utah that in Indonesia there are only two seasons; hot and very hot. So, being under the pouring snow is the most enjoyable experience.
Photographing objects in the grip of cold air with thick winter clothes turned out to be really troublesome. I couldn't shoot with thick gloves. But when I took them off, the cold air made me uncomfortable. Finally, I did a quick open-shoot-install system.
The system combines three activities quickly, accurately, and should be able to provide maximum results, but in reality many of them are not as expected, as seen in the series of photos in this #monomad post. The first experience taught me a lot. I am sure I will be more capable in the future and hope to be able to take pictures under the snow like in Park City.
There are also photos with moving objects in this parade. There are also photos that I took while I was in the car. The results are not very satisfying, but I just want to give the impression that the photo is moving and alive.
Thank you for the support of #monochromes and all parties who have supported me in the past, present, and future.[]
