I took the photos in today's post while at the Big Gunpowder Falls State Park in Baltimore County, Maryland. It was very early in the morning and I was on my way back to the beginning of the trail and parking lot. I took three separate photos of this pretty spot of scenery with the sunlight shining down through the trees and shrubs. My first photo above was actually the last photo that I took and this next photo was the second.
This last photo was my first shot of this spot but I decided that my favorite of the three photos that I photographed was the one I decided to post first. Chronologically though this next photo was the one I took first. I think because it was still very early in the morning, that the sun shining down onto this spot and through the dense humidity, it really gave my photos an ethereal look. I love them in color as well but I think I love them as much, if not more in black and white. The way the sunlight touched on the foliage and the shades of black and white just struck me as beautiful. I also felt extremely lucky to have been there at just the right time to see and photograph such a lovely piece of scenery and share it here! 🖤
