In the morning, the traffic congestion in Lhokseumawe City can feel very intense. The main roads connecting various parts of the city become a sea of slow-moving vehicles. From six in the morning, traffic begins to thicken, as people go to work and school.
In the city center, intersections are often significant congestion points. The alternating red lights seem insufficient to control the increasing volume of vehicles. Drivers must patiently wait their turn, while listening to the honking of vehicles, adding to the impression of the morning hustle and bustle.
On the outskirts of the city, congestion is also seen along the small roads connecting residential areas with the city center. Many private vehicles, motorbikes, and public transportation try to avoid the congested main routes, thus exacerbating the congestion in this area. Motorbikes often drive between the gaps in vehicles, adding to the impression of chaos in the morning.
The morning market atmosphere also contributes to traffic congestion. Traders who sell their wares on the side of the road make some roads narrower. Shoppers at the market often park haphazardly, worsening the congestion and causing long lines of vehicles to be stuck behind them.
Drivers have to deal with other challenges, such as damaged roads and potholes in the asphalt, which often make the congestion worse. Many vehicles are forced to drive slowly to avoid damaging their wheels or suspension, further exacerbating the already congested traffic situation.
Amidst this density, the morning atmosphere in Lhokseumawe remains alive with various activities. Pedestrians, who usually cross the sidewalks, often have to adapt to vehicles driving near them. Despite the challenging morning atmosphere, the enthusiasm of the people to start the day is still evident, creating a dynamic that is typical of this city.
