"What's wrong with cats?!", this pet could be said to have a privilege in my province. Apart from being one of the most popular pets, cats also have a long history in Islam and the majority of Muslim societies.
Even stories in Islamic history; about Abu Hurairah (friend of the Prophet Muhammad SAW) who was a hadith narrator whose work is very much mentioned, his name was called "Abu Hurairah" because of his love of cats and having lots of cats where he lived.
For Muslims, cats are very beloved animals, even if they are just stray cats. He would get leftover fish heads and leftover bones from everyone, and some would even give him more special food.
A few days ago, I accidentally ran over a kitten, I told my mother about it. She told me to wrap the cat in my white clothes. Then I bury it behind the house. Mother then asked me to buy 7 packets of salt and told me to distribute them to the poor around the house. This is indeed a tradition for someone to accidentally kill a cat (run over/hit) and is believed to keep away dangerous anger from ourselves. In fact, many people who run over/hit cats experience misfortune, either for themselves or their vehicles.
I believe it, 9 years ago I ran over a cat. I ignored him and continued driving my vehicle. A few weeks later, my vehicle had an accident. I hit a motorbike rider who was crossing the road and died. Since then I have become more confident in the words of previous people about the misfortune that befalls us, if we run over or hit a cat.
"Publoe mi lam eumpang" is one of the local proverbs related to cats, which translates as "Selling cats in sacks", literally this proverb means someone who sells goods without showing the goods they want to sell without showing the goods. And there are many more proverbs about cats or related to cats.
