A bridge in the neighborhood of Palermo that is closed, even though I have been passing by there for a while and seeing that it is unused I think it has been closed for more than a year, a governmental issue, permits not granted or transferred between an old government and a new one, is what most people have told you about it. This is something very common in other aspects but let's go to what we are really interested in, which is street photography.
This bridge only has the function of allowing the passage from one street to another, a crosswalk. Today at dusk I thought I would go there and look for some good shots, so that I could take advantage of the light in this part of the neighborhood. The structure, the beams and some other minimal details of the structure seemed interesting in black and white, as well as capturing some people passing by.
I was only on location for about 20 minutes and was lucky enough to have that train pass by. Trains, rails and train stations have always appealed to me for photography, so I was able to take some quick shots while the train was moving and getting further and further away. This part of the track is very enclosed and has a lot of trees and branches on the sides, that made the photos visually more interesting, at least in my opinion.
Even though it's a very little traveled space, at that moment there were many people crossing from one side to the other, the light was perfect in the backlight, it was getting more and more intense and I added much more contrast to these photos than usual.
There are other details that I thought about photographing, I had this planned before even getting there... Nuts, beams, fences and padlocks were what I found and with the 85mm lens it was very comfortable for me to take these shots.
I took this photo at an aperture of f9.0 and the next one at f5.0. This lens allows us to have a more pronounced bokeh, more blur when working at f1.8 but the focus or sharpness is not the best... When we do it at f5.0 all this changes and improves, although we do not have such a blurred background, the sharpness compensates for the above.
I took this photo with an aperture of f1.8 👇🏻
From afar I could already see a sign on top of the bridge structure. I think no one has paid attention to this and everything remains the same.
At some point the light was falling and I took some more backlit photos in the middle of the pedestrian path, I like the atmosphere that this next photo has in particular, the light on the top and on the floor draw inclined lines.
I turned and from the other side of the bridge I also took this photo from a low angle.
Some people go up and some people go down. A set of photographs that I consider a little different. I always go to beautiful, iconic, aesthetically attractive places. Today was unusual but I think I had good results. For this set I must say that I have a favorite photo and it's the first one.
Which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments :)
That's all folks. Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.
