Book Fair in Plaza Italia | Monomad Challenge [ENG/ESP]

Yesterday I was walking around Plaza Italia, I was looking for an SD card for the camera and as usual I carry it with me in my backpack everywhere.... well, almost everywhere. I was near the subway station and I passed by the middle of the book fair, I had never dared to take some pictures of this fair, I don't know why, so I took a few minutes to do it.

It's located in the neighborhood of Palermo on Santa Fe Avenue and offers a great variety of books of different genres.

Ayer estuve caminando por plaza Italia, estaba buscando una tarjeta SD para la cámara y como ya es costumbre la llevo conmigo en mi mochila a todos lados... bueno, a casi todos lados. Estaba cerca de la estación de subte y pase por el medio de la feria del libro, nunca me había animado a tonar unas fotos de esta feria, desconozco el motivo, así que me tomé unos minutos para hacerlo.

Está ubicado en el barrio de Palermo sobre la avenida Santa Fé y ofrece gran variedad de libros de diversos géneros.

It's one of the most accessible places in relation quality-price, in these posters you can see some of the 3X2 offers, tables with a certain amount of books at 2,500 Argentine pesos which would be approximately 2.50 USD, other tables at 1,500 pesos (1.50 USD). You can also opt for the option to exchange, sell or buy.

Es uno de los lugares más accesibles en relación calidad-precio, en estos carteles se observan algunas de las ofertas de 3X2, mesas con cierta cantidad de libros a 2.500 pesos argentinos que serían aproximadamente 2.50 USD, otras mesas a 1.500 pesos (1.50 USD). Ademas puedes optar por la opción de canjear, vender o comprar.

What caught my attention when I took some pictures here, apart from the aesthetics and the structure in the middle of the avenue, was the entrance of light, there were very dark areas and other very illuminated, at the same time people walking around and others consulting prices and reading. I thought it was a good atmosphere for black and white photography.

Lo que me llamo la atención de tomar algunas fotos acá aparte de la estética y la estructura en medio de la avenida, fué la entrada de luz, habían zonas muy oscuras y otras muy iluminadas, al mismo tiempo las personas caminando por acá y otras consultando precios y leyendo. Me pareció una buena atmósfera para la fotografía en blanco y negro.

There are 40 stores that open their doors daily and allow people to obtain these books in physical form, something that has been lost with the advent of technology, whereby many choose to download or buy them via the web and read from a PDF.

Son 40 las tiendas que abren sus puertas a diario y que permiten a las personas obtener estos libros de forma física, algo que se ha venido perdiendo con la llegada de la tecnología, mediante la cual muchos optan por descargarlos o comprarlos vía web y leer desde un PDF.

Once I actually bought a book at this fair, I remember it was the dystopian fiction novel 1984 by George Orwell, curiously it was being sold in different parts of the city after the most recent "pandemic".

Una vez de hecho compré un libro en ésta feria, recuerdo que era la novela de ficción distopica 1984 por George Orwell, curiosamente se estaba vendiendo en distintas partes de la ciudad posterior a la más reciente "pandemia".

Speaking of something else, after taking these photos I became interested in doing street photography in little known or iconic places that generate another atmosphere, this way I can get different results and make known other areas of the city that can be interesting.

Hablando de otra cosa, después de tomar estas fotos tomé interés en hacer fotografía de calle en lugares poco conocidos o icónicos que generen otra atmósfera, de esta forma puedo conseguir resultados diferentes y dar a conocer otras zonas de la ciudad que pueden ser interesantes.
