So Elder David was born October 15th, 1937 to my grand parents.
It was such a privilege to have you as a father and very proud to his son. A very discipline officer who's very strict and full of swag.
I recall one the story he once told us about himself when he was in service, where there was a national event involving then military head of state, General Yakubu Gowon. And an order has come from Dodan Barrack the seat of the head of state, that every one attending the event must be searched before given access to the hall. And at the arrival of the Head of state to the event, He order his boys to stop the head head of state at the entrance while he came by himself to search him, siting an order from above, that every soul must be searched before granting access to the hall. And after he was done, he then give the head of an official compliment(Salute) and ask him to pass.
While he was telling me this story, i didn't if i should laugh or angry, but i was confused. Who dare stop a military head of state and search him in an event that happen in his country? I could only imagined if he was court Marshall afterwards. So curiously i asked, what was the reaction of the Head of state after you were don?
He laughed and responded to my compliment(Salute). He replied.
Were you court Marshall after the incident? i asked again.
Why would i be court Marshall? He responded. And even if i was, i can defend myself, he continued.
That's just little of kind of the man i have as a father, whose regular quote is "There is no partial obedient, you either obey or you disobey".
I love you Daddy, and i'm asking you all my friends on this community to help me celebrate the great man at 85.
This is my entry for today's #monomad challenge.
