I've been a fan of Leica for quite sometime now but I just don't have that financial strength to own one. So, last week I have a chance to go for a touch and try meeting organize by a friend who owns 6's Leica body in his collection. I think he do have the one that still used a film roll, analogue camera but he didn't bring it at that time of meeting. During the meeting, I managed to get my hands to try the Leica CL and Leica Q. Both are digital camera but with older technology I think. The camera performance just cannot keep up with the latest model in the market but I'm impressed with the colour that came out from it especially the monochrome colour settings. I've been using the monochrome setup quite a lot at the time and here's a few of the results.
There's two setting for the monochrome picture profile, the natural one and the high contrast setup. I personally like the natural setup because of the place that we gather don't have that much of lights in it. Plus, in low light condition it produce a lot of grain and noise. Pairing this camera with a fast aperture lens is the best in this low light condition. There's a certain light condition that I do prefer using the high contrast setup such as these.
I quite curious as to why Leica's camera are very expensive compare to other brands. It turns out that Leica cameras component are all handcrafted, from the screws to the motherboard, is assembled by hand by skilled workers. No wonder that it cost so much to own it. Since I've tested this camera, I went on to YouTube and watch all that I can find about Leica's. One camera model that I'm hooked in is the new Leica SL2s in which I saw being used to shoot a black and white video advertisement and music video. For now, I can only put this in my bucket list camera to own as the price is quite expensive. So, here's more of the photo that I've taken some of which I edited it to be black and white stills from the original colour.
By the way, @tommyl33 @bluekinabalu @ikankaruk88 are in this picture together getting poison with me in testing this camera 😸😸😸
