Getting Ready For A Living | #Monomad Challenge

Fishing has been the main source of living here in our village and almost every day I witnessed the daily routine of fishermen as they prepare themselves and their boats before heading to the mid-ocean to catch fish. Just like what I saw this late afternoon as I stroll on the coastline, a lone fisherman was preparing his boat before heading to mid-ocean.

The fisherman that seems to be in his senior age prepares his fishing materials, as you can see in the below photos fish cages have been attached on both poles of his boat commonly known by locals as "Katig" these are the poles that balances as it drifts to the ocean. Usually, fishnet is the common fishing material that a fisherman should have but this lone folk uses fish cages as he will not stay for long on mid-ocean. Instead, he will just drop those fish cages with bait inside in a certain spot of the ocean and will come back for it after a day or two.

After binding the fish cages securely in the Katig, he then fills the boat with fuel as it was a motorized fishing boat after all, which I thought at first glimpse a manual operated fishing boat since the boat doesn't look like a machine operated one. Indeed, we shouldn't judge the book by its own cover after all.

After filling the boat with fuel the fisherman is now more than ready to head on the ocean to do drop those fish cages. From afar, there are some motorized fishing boats that were anchored, it is likely that the owners of those boats only go mid-ocean from dusk till dawn. Those fishing boats were relatively bigger than the lone fisherman uses.
