Sometimes I'm just a simple spectre wandering almost imperceptible in the streets of Montalbán, fortunately I carry a camera in my hand and that allows me to record how it looks like here during those magical mornings where the fog is the co-protagonist in charge of putting an accent of mystery, drama and timelessness all around... Come with me and see some of my photos for today's #monomad challenge...

Algunas veces soy un simple espectro deambulando casi imperceptible en las calles de Montalbán, afortunadamente llevo una cámara en la mano y eso me permite registrar como luce esto aquí durante esas mañanas mágicas donde la niebla es la co-protagonista encargada de poner un acento de misterio, drama y atemporalidad en todo alrededor... Ven conmigo y mira algunas de mis fotos para #monomad challenge hoy...

Unconsciously, the town wakes up slower than usual when the fog is thicker and seems to slow down the minutes and the hours at will... It seems to me that most people don't notice this, they don't realise how the dense atmosphere disturbs everything and endows it with the typical mystery of the urban landscape filled with the uncertainty caused by not knowing what may be some metres away... The fog ‘compresses’ everything with vehemence, I am referring to space, time and people... People I know become strangers, just silhouettes going about their routine without understanding that they are going through a complex scenario...

De manera inconsciente, el pueblo se despierta más lento que de costumbre cuando la niebla es más densa y parece ralentizar los minutos y las horas a voluntad... Me parece que la mayoría de las personas no notan esto, no se percatan de como la atmósfera densa perturba todo y lo dota con el misterio típico del paisaje urbano repleto de la incertidumbre ocasionada por no saber que hay algunos metros más allá... La niebla "comprime" todo con vehemencia, me refiero al espacio, al tiempo y a las personas... Los conocidos pasan a ser extraños, apenas siluetas cumpliendo su rutina sin entender que atraviesan un escenario complejo...

Enjoying taking photos in the streets transforms me into a ‘privileged human’ because I have the capacity to perceive reality in a different dimension and far from the conformism and ‘getting used to it’ that affect the rest of the people... I observe and I feel the houses falling down, the facades disfigured, the cracks, the smells of humidity and sadness walking silently or hiding behind the doors... I am a sort of ‘inappropriate witness’ of all this, because at the same time I have the strange joy of taking a photograph that records the irreversible decay...

Gustar de hacer fotos en las calles me transforma en un "humano privilegiado" pues tengo la capacidad de percibir la realidad en una dimensión distinta y alejada del conformismo y el "acostumbrarse" que afectan al resto de las personas... Yo observo y siento las casa cayéndose, las fachadas vestustas, las grietas, los olores de la humedad y el la tristeza paseándose silente o escondida detrás de las puertas... Soy una especie de "testigo inapropiado" de todo esto, pues al mismo tiempo voy teniendo la extraña alegría de hacer una fotografía que registre la decadencia irreversible...

All these lines that I sometimes write, especially when I decorate them with tints of pessimism, drama and a very perceptible resignation, are born from my vision in these streets, untidy and twisted on their own humanity... I like to write, it's like ‘translating my photos’ it seems to me... But mainly I like to write because it is in this way that I express my emotions concerning this town which is slowly crumbling... And I warn you, I am not sad about it... After all, it seems to me that what is happening here simply ‘had to happen’... And I don't speak with a fatalistic outlook, no... I simply think, I intuit and it seems to me that this simply ‘had to happen’...

Todas estas lineas que escribo a veces, en especial cuando las decoro con tintas de pesimismo, de drama y de una muy perceptible resignación, nacen de mi visión en estas calles desprolijas y torcidas sobre su propia humanidad... Me gusta escribir, es como "traducir mis fotos" me parece... Pero principalmente me gusta escribir porque así plasmo mis emociones relativa a este pueblo que se desmorona lentamente... Y advierto, no estoy triste al respecto... Después de todo me parece que esto que sucede aquí, simplemente "tenía que suceder"... Y no hablo con un parecer fatalista,no... Simplemente pienso, intuyo y me parecer que esto simplemente "tenía que suceder"...

The acceptance of the irreversible confers an enormous power on the one who has it... I guess it's a bit about understanding that ‘everything that has begun, must have an end’ and knowing this, one can look around with a certain equanimity and act as a simple witness which, at the end of it all, will perhaps also be absorbed by the inevitable oblivion...

La aceptación de lo irreversible confiere un poder enorme a quien la tiene... Supongo que se trata un poco de entender que "todo lo que ha comenzado, ha de tener un final" y sabiendo esto, se puede mirar alrededor con cierta ecuanimidad y fungir como un simple testigo el cual, al final de todo, quizás también será absorbido por el olvido inevitable...

_{ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}

_{NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
