This building above is the City Hall of the city of Vigo, the inhabitants say it is a horrible building, it does not match the architecture of the city, and its construction took more than three times the intended budget. Now the community is calling for its demolition.
But what matters most for this post is what this building has in front of it.
Este edificio arriba es el Ayuntamiento de la ciudad Vigo, los habitantes dicen que es un edificio horrible, no concuerda con la arquitectura de la ciudad, su construcción se llevó más del triple del presupuesto destinado. Ahora la comunidad pide que lo derrumben.
Pero lo que más importa para este post es lo que este edificio tiene al frente.
Opposite the Town Hall, on a small hill are the ruins of what was once a 16th-century walled fort. It was a fortress that consisted of a network of walled castles that protected the city from invasions.
Now only a few walls and some old and rusty cannons remain. Among the walls that are still standing, there is a garden with a fountain, the watchtowers are the most touristic part of the place because from there you can see a 180-degree view of the pier and part of the city.

Frente al Ayuntamiento, sobre una pequeña colina se encuentran las ruinas de lo que fue un fuerte amurallado del siglo XVI. Era una fortaleza que estaba conformada por una red de castillos amurallados que protegían la ciudad de las invasiones.
Ahora solo se conservan algunas paredes y algunos cañones viejos y oxidados. Entre las paredes que aún quedan en pie, hay un jardín con una fuente, las garitas de vigilancias son la parte más turística del lugar porque desde ahí se puede apreciar una vista de 180 grados del muelle y parte de la ciudad.
