Hail to the Hive!
In a few days we will be setting off on a journey on our kittle narrowboat ‘Cygnet’ that will take us through several canals and Rivers, one of which is the River Thames. The Thames is one of the rivers that requires you to wear a life vest while on the boat and as I’d left it to the last minute and couldn’t order one online to arrive in time, I had to do it the old fashioned way and go to a shop. You know like they did in he olden days when everything was in black and white 😉.
So off we popped into Torquay in the morning to visit a few boat chandlers to see if I could get what I was looking for and it turned out to be a very beautiful morning.
We parked up and took a walk over a modern stunning looking bridge in the harbor area and I was very taken by the look of its construction and proceeded to snap away ( getting those odd looks from passers by as you do because they can’t see what you’re seeing) taking shots from as many angles as possible.
The morning light was perfect, crisp, clear with the air still a little chilly despite the sun and just the right amount of brightness without becoming glaring.
It really is a stunning walkway and I had to be patient to try and capture shots with as few folks in it as possible so as not to distract from its beautiful lines.
When looking st the finished results I couldn’t help noticing the futuristic vibe they give off. It really is a stunning bit of architecture.
Sadly we had soon passed over the bridge but had reached our destination and in no time at all found the perfect life vests, good quality, low profile, just the job as when in storage we don’t want them taking too much space up.
And then what better way to round off the perfect morning of great scenery, lovely photographic opportunities and a successful shopping mission than to refresh with a cold pint of Devon Pale Ale
Mmmm how’s that for a slice of monochromatic fried gold!
