Hail to the Hive!
Living the way we do has given us the ability to spend a lot of time in some amazing little out of the way spots that are incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We are constantly discovering new places as we travel the network and also revisiting some of our favorite spots that we moored in when we were traveling and living aboard Badger the Narrowboat.
This is one of those old spots we have been looking forward to revisiting.
Along a stretch of the Grand Union Canal between Napton Junction and Braunston is a place we love to spend the night, or sometimes more than a night. It’s bridge 100 ‘Chambers Bridge’ and it is positively idyllic.
I’d been longing to break the drone out for a while but it was just too windy but on this day it seemed the winds had died enough for me to shoot the bird up and grab some aerial imagery.
I think it adds a whole different perspective to see the canal snaking its way through the gorgeous landscape of the English countryside. It’s almost like something from lord of the rings. It always sets me off day dreaming of random fantasies, simply timeless beauty.
To think we slowly travel across this landscape in our little floating home, stopping in little villages for supplies and then finding little quiet moorings to stay for a few days before casting off and moving on. Dreamlike….yet that is what we do.
And I couldn’t be happier that we decided to return to this life
