Hail to the Hive!
Winter cruising is awesome. We saw a total of one other boat moving today before we set off and none at all moving while we were moving. It’s like having a private canal network all just for us and only us.
Generally there is much less traffic during the winter months and to be fair we have been iced in these past 5 days and now it’s started to melt we needed to get to a place for and waste so was a bit more urgent for us. Would have preferred to have stayed all snug on the boat in this cold weather but needs must as they say.
I ran out of memory space on the old phone and had to take some shots using the camera on a social media chat and in post edit realised they don't capture as much.
I wonder if the eagle eyed among you can tell which were taken on a chat app and which were not. I think it's pretty obvious but then I have the benefit of knowing.
I was happy with all the snaps though and also happy to be able to move again. It's not like we were iced in like Shackleton in the arctic as we were moored right outside a pub but having the ability to move taken away from you isn't nice. You become aware of the water running out and the toilet cassettes filling up and the fridge slowly emptying, beer disappearing ( well there is the pub!)
But thankfully normaity afloat is restored once more. Hope you liked the pics because as you know I do
