Studio Portraiture of Rina - 5 Photos

in #hive-1421592 years ago

This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes.

Being a mother and a business owner is very challenging. Raising children while at the same time maintaining your work and meeting the customer need everyday can be very exhausting. Not to Rina, she is a mother of three and still at the same time working on her saloon everyday to raise her children and pays the bill. She is indeed a very strong woman.

Greeting and hello everyone in the Black and White community. Its another day for a black and white studio portraiture. Today's model is Rina. This portraiture series for today was done in a studio with only using an available light. A very rare approach from my usual studio setup. This photoshoot was organize by my photographer friend. I prepared the studio and he invited the model, Rina.

Rina was with her partner, her partner is a fitness instructor in a certain gym here in Kota Kinabalu. They both look good on their body conditions. Turns out that her partner is her personal instructor in the gym.

A one light setup for this portraiture. I tried to make a Rembrandt lighting setup with the led, luckily the led produced a soft edged shadow.

This photo with the lights details on her was the focus assistance from a trigger on my friend's camera. I asked him to aim the light to her for me to get some details on the shoot. I think it was not bad to put some light details on the shoot. This adds another good experience on this kind of shoot.

Overall the photos that being taken with this setup turns out good. She was satisfied with the results and she was having fun from start to finish. That is all from me today and I hope that you guys liked it. Until we meet again on my next post. Stay safe and have a great day everyone. Cheers!.

Great shoot. The reflections in the 3rd photo are definitely very interesting and the light on her face in these shots is excellent.

Thank you so much my friend. very much appreciate it. :D

85 / 1.8 is always amazing :)

Yes, this is my current main portrait lens :D I love its compression.

I really want to buy the Nikon Z f/1.2 85 mm or 50mm, but they're so expensive.

yeah the price is very expensive. But if I had to choose between 85mm 1.2 and the 50mm 1.2, I would take the 50mm 1.2. :D

The 50mm is also the lens I don't own. :D

Its also cheaper than the 85, and having a low light option when the 24-70 f/2.8 doesn't cut it would be very nice.

yeah the 24-70 2.8 is good but for low light it still struggle compared to 1.8 and below. I tried it before (during workshop) using the 50mm 1.2 and the 85mm 1.4 for a low light shoot. I can go as low as 1/10s 100 iso and still have very sharp image. the only difference between this two was the 50mm is much more easier to use and have better range in smaller area.

I would imagine the 50mm to be much lighter, too, and have a shorter minimum focus distance than the 85. :D

Trade offs everywhere. Why can't there just be a super lens that is 1.2 24-200? :D It would be so expensive, so heavy, and so impractical, but it would be amazing!

HAHAHA this can be a lens that rule them all. 🤣🤣🤣 the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 is not bad I think. But still not wide enough though 😅
