I used to love certain songs and prayers, but now I can't bring myself to sing them. They go like this: 'Lord, if it's hard for everyone in Nigeria, it won't be hard for me and my family.' Or, 'If people are having problems, I and my family won't have problems.' These prayers seem selfish to me. No one wants hardship, pain, or problems - life just happens to people without their consent. Why can't we pray instead that Nigeria won't be hard on anyone? Why can't we pray that no one will go through pain? The more I know God, the more I realize God is love. I don't want to see anyone in pain. I'd rather pray for those going through hardship than say, 'If it's hard for them, it won't be hard for me.' To me, that kind of prayer is as selfish as the current government. I refuse to say Amen to such prayers, even if they're said on my behalf.

I dream of a world where we can come together in prayer, not just for individual blessings, but for the collective good. Where we can pray for the healing of our nations, the restoration of our planet, and the unity of our human family. Where we can pray not just for our own success, but for the success of all.
"May our prayers be a reflection of our shared humanity, rather than our individual interests. May we learn to pray with hearts full of love, minds full of wisdom, and spirits full of compassion. And may our prayers become a powerful force for transformation, bringing us closer to a world where all can live in peace, harmony, and prosperity.
