Greetings, fellow travelers!
Do you recall the charming whitewashed chimneys I shared with you a few days ago?
I don't want to postpone my travel story about this amazingly beautiful and cozy village in Andalusia, Spain, called "Capileira"!
TL;DR:
Picturesque Andalusian village where I would love to spend more time walking, taking photos, tasting food and wines and having a peaceful long relaxing vacation!
Indeed! I would also do a myriad of other stuff as well, I even would not mind sharing that cool stone path/patio with that doggy for a few moments :D It loves playing games, so do I! :)
Of course, the most of the time would go into admiring the beautiful views!
It is a lively village, local people are warm and welcoming.
When entering the village, the traveler is presented with a few options:
Let me assure you, though, you would like to browse its stone covered narrow streets:
and take your eyes up to the balconies, covered with red, always blossoming potted flowers:
The summer heat there is big but shadows could be found near every street corner...
The contrast between the whitewashed houses and the red blossoms of the flowers is so "wow"!
I can tell by the design of the central parts of the roads, there are heavy rains.
Thankfully, not at the time I was there. Here is a beautiful whitewashed water source, it looks to me so magical!
I was deeply tempted to enter that ancient door!
Plain roofs, covered in gravel, underlining the beauty of the surrounding mountain:
I wonder what would it feel to have a glass of excellent Andalusian red wine in my hand while watching the sunset from that small balcony?
Or lighting a candle under the whitewashed icon of Virgin Mary?
Or attend to a mass in this small church?
The speechless chimneys have witnessed that all!
I wouldn't miss, if I were you, the breathtaking views from the observation point built by the local county in year 1977:
Of course, I went even higher in the mountain to explore more panoramic perspectives of that magical village:
Now let's get back to that welcoming "tableau" of offers ;)
What can I say? After visiting the museum and the church, I would definitely need to "recharge my batteries" inside all of those bars, bodegas and restaurants :) I would definitely visit that gallery to give some food to my soul and mind as well!
Oh, time, time, I need more time for this miraculous small whitewashed gem, called the village of Capileira!
