I did it...I finally took the new camera out for a landscape adventure. On a day off from work, I drove about 60 minutes south of La Crosse to visit the Rush Creek State Natural Area. The area overlooks the Mississippi River, and despite the gloom and wind, I got a few photos in with the new camera.

The area is in the heart of the Driftless Area and offers spectacular views of the Mississippi River valley. The hike is strenuous but the views were worth it. This was my first attempt at landscape photography with the new Fuji...and I have plenty to learn more about the camera moving forward.

I like the crisp look and the clarity of those images. I'd love to see a RAW image taken at ISO 100 and let's say automatic settings so I see what the camera is really capable of :)
I am sure you've added that moody vignetting in post-processing?
Awesome landscapes!

I'm planning a quick jaunt to the river again today after work if the sun holds out..I will try that setting out today on the Mississippi - thanks!

The camera itself has a film sim setting, with a few defaults and the ability to create one's own recipes. I used a default setting I guess, and then I ran it through Snapseed's vintage filter and adjusted accordingly. Amateur hour over here in Wisconsin, lol!

Sounds great!
I am sure that Snapseed decreases the quality of the photos but that could only be seen at 100% zooming, I guess. Each time a JPG file is saved the compression is applied and as it is not lossless...
Don't mind me, though :) When sharing online, quality is far far away from what's most important :)
