The program that gave me the spirit to hope

I remember sharing some key notes about being in the university. Some of the things one should take note of and others. Attending programs was one. Programs give us a spirit we can’t explain. An inner spirit that fills you up and you think you can push anything as you climb the ladder to success. I had my feeling in one program. I am here to share with you today.

It was a normal Thursday afternoon in school when I had a class. An interesting class that I was known to have never missed it. On the other hand, was with my friends before the course class will start. They were in the same class too so we were waiting for the time to pass so that we could get in. Time flies.

Just about getting to 3:30 GMT, there was this program the second lady, H. E Samira Bawumia was organizing in my school (University of Ghana). It was for writers and I was a mathematics student known for my writing talent. We decided to pass through the program to pass the time so that when it’s time for our class we leave.

We got in and it was a changing moment. The program started and it was time for the class. We said, “Ah well, there is always a first time to everything. The class can wait. Haha,” We blended well into the program. It was an amazing one that I learned a lot about writing. I had my forts inspiration to write my first book from this program. I haven’t started it yet but I know I will one day will.

My great friends just behind me

The program was great. I had the chance to ask a question about being unable to evaluate your work as a writer. This was when I was noticed by everyone. As in, it was odd for me to be there. So many people had asked questions before me. And before you ask a question you need an introduction, your name, and your department. The people who asked their questions were from the English department. I stood up and said, “I’m Abdul Wahab Osman from the Mathematics department.” Everyone was laughing and the second lady of Ghana had to turn to see who that was. She smiled when she looked at me. I asked my question and I was the attention of the program. What is a mathematics student doing in a poetry program? That was the spotlight.

Before the program ended, I had the chance to show the room what I was made of. A good display of my poem. It was titled “Death, why so soon?” They loved it. It was great and everyone in the room clapped for me. This was where I had my spirit. I ended the day with an honor from the second lady of Ghana. She gave me a book. It was an inspiration to tell to keep going.

When I was honored with the book

I took my chance to attend the program. Why not you? It’s your life. You get nothing to lose when you risk it. You ever might know if it will turn out just fine. Even if it doesn’t, it’s time to learn and boggle up to try again.
Thanks for passing through. Find a program to attend to unleash that diamond in you

I just know this can never be me. The only reason I’ve been at programs is because I was part of the organizers in one way or the other.

But maybe this is my sign in attend programs that are outside my jurisdiction

Do well to open up to these programs. Don't always be in that shield. Open up and you will see many opportunities running up to because you are made for it. Try it

Definitely 🤞🏽

The wife of most honored liar in our country gave you a book and you’re saying ‘she honored you’
