Hello everyone, I hope y'all doing great.
This is actually my first time making a post here on Hive students hub but I strongly believe and I will be warmly welcomed as its our goal to see the best in everyone's effort and to also make impacts collaboratively.
I am graduate from the University for development studies, I studied bachelor of science in agriculture technology and also a graduate from the agricultural college, graduated as an extension agent and agronomist and I'm currently working with the ministry of food and agriculture.
Life after school hasn't been easy at all but nonetheless we can't relent but to keep chasing the goal to always reach greater heights in future.
I got myself engaged in the Agritech Challenge 2023 organized by Kosmos innovation center..This challenge seeks to bring students and graduates who are so passionate about Agriculture, enterpreneurship and technology and have innovative ideas to pitch for a price of $50,000.
I was invited by the Kosmos innovation center for two days orientation and training on entrepreneurship.
The training seeks to train us on how to become a successful entrepreneur and how to brainstorm innovative ideas to fit into the entrepreneurship world to become best competitors in the market.
We dealt in understanding the psychological aspects of entrepreneurship and understanding how to develop a successful carrier in entrepreneurship.
Moreover understanding the three E's...The building blocks of entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneur
The Enterprise
The Environment
We were served with lunch 😁..
.Yummy 😁
An entrepreneur is a person who creates and builds up ideas aiming at having a successful enterprise.
The psychological aspects of entrepreneurship includes,
Being able to handle stress
Taking risk -Calculated risk
Staying Motivated
"An entrepreneur looks like A boy riding a lion "
Literally means that entrepreneurs go through fearsome nightmares that may be hardly to talk about.
They struggle silently because there's a sense that talking about them is a sign of weakness .
We deliberated on Agriprenuership.... Agriprenuership is about discovering something in the agricultural sector and developing a business applying entrepreneurship principles.
Furthermore, we discussed innovative farming techniques.
Agriprenuers leverage innovative farming techniques and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
They adopt modern methods such as a precision agriculture, hydroponics, vertical farming, green house cultivation to optimize resource utilization and maximize yields.
@Abdul01 well represented.
Moreover, We also deliberated on AgriTourism and that is agriprenuers combining agriculture with tourism to create unique experience for visitors.
They establish agritourism ventures such as fair stays, farm tours or agricultural themed recreational activities.
They help generate income and promotes rural developments.
Lastly, we discussed Agricultural Value Chain and that is the link and interdependence between the producer to the final consumer.
Categories of value chain includes,
Crop
Livestock
Fishery
Wild products.
And types of upgrading with regards to Agri value chain
-process upgrading
-product upgrading
-Chain upgrading -moving to a new chain
We discussed issues of long term investments.
Equity or debts
Working Capital-how you will manage every day financial activities.
Liabilities -assets=Working Capital.
All in all, the orientation went on well and it was insightful enough... Thanks to Kosmos innovation center for the opportunity.
