Many of us love to observe other peopleās lives, and when we see that they have more than we do, we feel sad.
"Why is their life like that? Why do they have this? Why do they have that? Why can they go here and there?"
"I work hard and Iām a good person too, so why canāt I do the things they do?"
It is human nature to desire a happy life, but envy is not part of our true nature.
Envy is an influence of the devil, meant to steal our happiness.
If we truly want to be happy, we must first learn to appreciate the small things we already have.
Donāt be envious of others when they post about the expensive food they ate today. If you were able to eat today, be happy. There are people who have nothing to eat and go an entire day without food.
Donāt envy others for their expensive clothes. If you have something to wear today, even if itās just simple clothing, be grateful, some people donāt have a change of clothes and have been wearing the same outfit for days because they have nothing else.
Donāt be jealous of other peopleās life adventures. Just because those experiences made them happy doesnāt mean they will guarantee happiness for you too.
Stay away from envy. Remember, it was envy that led to the first murder in historyāwhen Cain became jealous of Abel.
If you constantly compare yourself to others, you are giving the devil a chance to tempt you and pollute your heart and mind.
Letās start by being grateful that we are alive today. When you learn to appreciate the small things in life, you will gradually discover the true meaning of happiness.
