From December to February - My Ongoing Garden Setup Journey

in #hive-14483815 hours ago

I started fixing up my garden in December, and now it's already February, but it feels like I'm still not done. Every day, as soon as I wake up and have my coffee, I observe how I set up my garden.

Little by little, I make adjustments based on what I think looks good.

I grouped the vegetables together and did the same with the ornamental plants.

Of course, I also categorized them further. I separated the trailing crops like melon, bitter gourd, and chayote from tomatoes, eggplants, okra, and others.

I also separated my ornamental plants based on their water needs—those that prefer more water and those that don’t. Then, I further divided them based on whether they thrive in sunlight or prefer shade.

That’s one of the reasons why I’m still working on my garden even now in February.

It also took longer because I had to change the soil for many plants after realizing that the soil they were planted in wasn’t suitable for them.

For those I identified as succulents, I transferred them to pots with more drainage holes and used a succulent soil mix. For others, I used cocopeat, while for plants like my aglaonema, I added rice hulls to the soil mix since I learned that they grow better in it.

I dedicate a lot of time to gardening, from the moment I wake up until before 11 PM. But I also have other work to do, like my regular job in graphic design and creating affiliate videos as my side hustle.

During my breaks or when I take a rest, I write here on PEAKD to share what I’ve been up to.

By the way, I also have a Business Page on Facebook and recently created a YouTube channel. If you’d like to show your support, you can do so by liking and following my other social media accounts.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read my post! Next time, I’ll try to include better images and a more engaging story to make it more enjoyable for you to read. 😊
