How is your day going on? I missed to write about the tournaments for the last community engagement challenge as i couldn't get time to write one, but i would like to write on the same for this week's social media challenge as it's another week and we have the new social media challenge is up today.

Splinterlands challenges keeps me motivated to write some blogs every week and it's an opportunity for me to earn some crypto and invest in the crypto of the splinterlands i.e. sps in order to increase my staked amount and earn more glint and sps from the battle wins.

Ok let me get into the details of the tournaments.

If we see in splinterlands, we can see 2 types of tournaments, the guild brawls are also like tournaments although those are between different teams but individuals will be battle it out.

Where as the actual tournaments we have (play --> tournaments is the path) are something we need to battle within the groups.

The tournament entrants will be divided into groups and each player will sweat it out against his group mates and few percentage as decide before the tournament starts, will advance further to be in another group in round 2 and those who finish among the top in overall rankings, will get the rewards from the tournaments.

It's notable to note that, there will be more than 3 winners unlike in typical podium finish kind of scenarios.

So, as decide earlier, the winners will be getting the rewards and normally i have seen 64 or 128 winners per tournament and all of them will be getting some portion of total rewards at stake, but the top finishers will obviously be rewarded more.

If we see from the screenshot above, we can see that, tournaments will have options such as when, event, rules, prizes and entry.

When is all about the tournament start time with date and time mentioned and also, it will have the format of the tournament, i.e. whether it is a anytime tournament or some fixed time one.

Event section tells about what type of event it is, like modern format or wild format and whether is gold foiled version etc.

Rules specifies the format and edition related rules like gold only, all cards allowed, chaos legion edition only etc.

The prizes are the interesting part of tournaments and prize money is normally displayed in $ but rewards will be mostly in sps or cards or combination of both and sometimes there might be other cryptos as well.

Lastly, entry fee section tells about the fee for the tournament which is normally in dec.

So, the tournaments are fun way of battling to earn some additional sps and cards and will add to the existing sps earning from ranked battles and land if we have any.

The only constraint with tournaments is to have amount of sps staked as mentioned under rules and also the collection power criteria to be eligible to play in the tournaments.

But, not to be disappointed as there will be different tournaments with different sps and collection power requirements and some of those will be with lesser requirements and even new players can also play and earn some sps.

That is all i could write about tournaments and i will be back with another blog for community engagement challenge.

thank you.
