After a few weeks of playing Soulkeep since it was reset, I've come to the conclusion that the game is fun but not very profitable for me. It's not that the game isn't profitable, in the higher leagues players earn hundreds and even thousands of SPS depending on their position on the leaderboard, but currently I'm only playing in league 1 and I can't get into the top 10, so my profit in the game is very low and I only earn a small amount of SPS by playing, but I find it fun to play so whenever I have time I log in to the game to have fun and try to earn some SPS.
I aim to improve my skills in the game and in the future play in higher leagues so that I can earn a significant amount of SPS, but to do so I will need to delegate a large amount of SPS to Soulkeep since this is currently one of the requirements to play in leagues above league 1.
This is the table that shows how much SPS the player needs to delegate to play in the leagues. Since my skills in Soulkeep are low because I'm still learning and I don't have much time to dedicate to the game, then league 1 is my best option because that way I can pay small amounts of tickets to play in tournaments and improve my skills and I don't need to delegate any amount of SPS to Soulkeep.
First I'm going to improve my skills and knowledge about the game and then I'm going to make a good investment to be able to play in the higher leagues. For now my main focus is just to have fun because as I mentioned before the game is fun, so after a long day of work I like to play Soulkeep to relax.
I'm also interested in building a collection of Towers and Spells in the game so I don't have to rent them every time I need to play and since I don't play daily I would end up wasting a good part of the rental since the minimum rental is 2 days, so I decided to build a collection so I don't have to worry about renting anything and just open the game and play.
To start, I decided to open a Nightmare Pack. I was curious to know how many cards the pack would give me and I also wanted to test my luck to see if I could get a Tower or Spell that I usually use.
I went to Hive Engine and bought a Nightmare Pack for 1.44 Swap.Hive. I think I paid a bit too much because I've seen orders for less than 1 Hive being filled easily, but I didn't want to wait so I paid a higher price for the pack.
After opening the pack, these were the Towers and Spells that I got. Just like the Splinterlands packs, the Nightmare pack gives 5 cards and I was lucky enough to get the Cheapo Spell, which was one of the ones I wanted in my collection. I don't use the other cards very often but I believe they will be useful at some point.
The lowest price for the Cheapo spell is currently $0.59, this spell alone is enough to cover the price of the Nightmare Pack, so I can consider myself lucky since I paid less buying this pack than buying the cards on the market.
