It's been a few days since I decided that I would start building a card collection in the game Soulkeep. My profit in the game is small, but I find it very fun to play, and since I'm playing in league 1, building a collection is cheap since I only need cards at the minimum level.
My goal in building a card collection in the game is that I'm currently using it just for fun and I don't want to have any costs in it, so I don't want to spend money and time renting cards so I can have fun, and even though I say I'm using it just for fun, I still manage to make a small profit in SPS from it, something around 100 to 200 SPS per month, so it's not a wasted investment.
Currently Soulkeep is just fun for me, but I still intend to turn it into a profitable game for me, and to do that I'm going to move up a league soon to increase my SPS earnings, but since I don't have much time to dedicate to the game and learn about it, I'm just having fun while gaining knowledge to have the confidence to play in higher leagues in the future.
To build my Soulkeep collection, I decided to open Nightmare packs. I think it's more fun and so far, the ones I've opened have been lucky enough to get a higher value than what I paid for the pack, so I'm optimistic that I'll be that lucky in the future too. I only need a few cards to play in league 1, so building a collection is cheap and I'll only need to open a few packs to do so.
Today I decided to open 2 Nightmare packs. It's a small amount, but as I mentioned before, I don't need many cards to play in league 1, so a few packs are enough. Also, I want to test my luck again to see if I can get the cards I want. If I don't have any luck, then I think I'll change my strategy and buy the cards I want on the market instead of opening more packs.
Each pack contains 5 Soulkeep cards (Towers and Spells).
It seems that my luck with packs is still good and this time I managed to get 2 cards that I wanted, Raining Cats and Mana Mana.
Opening the packs was the right decision because the value of these cards is almost 3x the amount I paid for the 2 packs.
Now I only need the Quad Killer and Shock Therapy towers to have all the cards I want in Soulkeep and be able to play the game without having to rent any cards. Both towers are epic so it will probably be difficult to get them in packs but with the luck I have opening them I think I will open a few more soon and if I can't get them then I will go to plan B which is to buy them on the market.
Some of the cards I got in the packs won't be very useful so I'm thinking about whether to keep them or sell them to buy more packs, I don't like selling assets especially in a bull market and since Soulkeep is still in its early stages, these cards could be worth much more in the future so I will think a little more about what to do with them first.
