Hello everyone, Splinterlands players!!!

There aren't just the basic cards from the Rebellion edition, the new Rewards cards, the Conflicts airdrops, but now we also have new Promo cards that can be obtained in the Hall of Legends, which you can access by clicking on the Shop icon on the main site, and in the dark green bar below, clicking on Legends.

And today, in this post, I want to talk to you about two new monsters from this promotion and see them in action in one of my battles so you can understand their strengths and weaknesses.

sanctus stats.jpg

Sanctus Vicar: a rare card of two elements, Water and Fire, presents, right from level one, good stats, with 1 Armor, 4 Health, 2 Ranged, and 2 Speed, but most importantly, it has the new ability Cleanse Rearguard, which removes magic debuffs that have affected the card behind it.

At level 4, it also gains the Cleanse ability, and at the last level, the eighth, it gets Reflection Shield.

Cleanse Rearguard is definitely an ability that's tricky to use, as you need to remember to place a magic monster behind Vicar, perhaps against summoners like Thaddius Brood, who applies a -1 Magic debuff to opponents.

This card has had decent success in the market, going for around 2 dollars, which is quite good for a rare card.

The first 0 Mana cost card of Rebellion makes a splash in the Splinterlands world, just like the Fiend monsters from the Chaos Legion edition: Elanor Bravefoot, a Neutral card, offers very good stats for 0 cost, with 2 Health, 2 Speed, and 1 Ranged, but of course, it comes with the price of its Debilitation called Weary, which we've already analyzed when talking about Halfling Refugee.

At level 2, it gains the new ability Blasphemy of Uul, which allows it to receive +1 to its Ranged attack for every card named Fiend in the team.

Elanor quickly climbed the rankings, reaching third place in the market, with a current value of 36$.

Now let's take a look at one of my battles where I use both Sanctus and Elanor, at this link: https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_9edbaf9ce826faca473c9cc0815a2450

I wanted to experiment a bit in this battle, with a fairly low mana cap of 27, putting all very low mana-cost cards in the backline, like Halfling Refugee, Surly Drunk, and Elanor Bravefoot, to be able to deploy a heavy hitter like Grum Flameblade in the tank position.

Meanwhile, my opponent fielded a classic Water element team with Kelya Fredul as the summoner and Djinn Oshannus in the front line.

Despite the cost of the two Debilitations from Elanor and Halfling, I completely dominated the match, reaching the sixth round without losing a single card.

Of the two new cards, I was impressed by Elanor Bravefoot, which, on second thought, can be deployed in almost every battle. However, you need to decide if you're willing to sacrifice a spot on your team for such a card, but if you're out of mana, Elanor is there to help.

Nice! Elanor is going to be an expensive one with the zero mana and I can see the utility of having that card around. Sanctus I'm no so sure on as of yet, but I have a feeling Elanor will become an important card down the road. Awesome post!

Greetings, it's a very popular game here on Hive, it looks interesting
