Hello everyone, friends of Splinterlands!!!

As I write this, the world of cryptocurrencies is celebrating because Bitcoin has reached and surpassed $100,000. There's great excitement in the air, maybe even a bit too much, so it's always good to keep an eye on emotions like FOMO or Greed. Let’s hope the bull market also uplifts other coins.

And in Splinterlands, they are certainly not standing still! Another sale has already begun for two promo cards from the Hall of Legends category: Nephket and Meriput Mossmender.

We’ll be taking a closer look at the latter card in this week’s Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

meriput stats.jpg

Meriput Mossmender: a dual-element card, Earth and Life, with a 6 mana cost. Its stats might not seem extraordinary, with 2 Health and Magic, and 1 Armor and Speed. However, right from level 1, it boasts Repair, which restores up to 2 Armor points to teammates who have been hit in battle.

As it levels up, it gains additional abilities: Dodge, Cleanse, and at its max level (level 8), it unlocks the new ability Echo. This allows regenerative and cleansing abilities like Repair to be used twice in the same round.

Let’s see Meriput in action in one of my battles, available at this link: https://next.splinterlands.com/battle/sl_6edc4c1e165384c428d18a1e502e9d78

battlefield.jpg

This was a battle with what we can consider a medium Mana Cap, 48 points, allowing me to choose General Sloan as my summoner. For the Tank position, I picked a monster I hadn’t used in a while: Uriel the Purifier. He was followed by Corsair Bosun, Meriput Mossmender safely placed in third position, Prismologist, Commander Goff, and finally Elanor Bravefoot.

My opponent, on the other hand, went with a classic team using the summoner Obsidian. Their lineup included Venari Knifer in the first position, followed by Mycelic Slipspawn with its Taunt ability, making it the lightning rod of their team. Behind it were Goblin Psychic, Benai Seedsmith, Goblin Tower, and Regal Peryton.

It was a great battle that seemed balanced at first, but by the third round, it was clear that the opposing team couldn’t hold out any longer. In fact, I didn’t lose any cards in this match, thanks in part to Meriput Mossmender, who restored 2 Armor points to all teammates hit during the battle. This ensured their Health remained intact, allowing them to finish the battle with their stats fully preserved.

Meriput Mossmender looks like a cool card, I'll have to try it out. Armor repair makes a big difference in matches and the 2 magic attack doesn't hurt either. Not too expensive either! I still need to bite the bullet and buy three copies of Elanor, it's just too good a card not to have in my arsenal!

I bought 3 bcx of Elanor and I don't regret it one bit 😃
