Moonkarts, the name that has been all over my Hive and X feed has finally got me and just like many of you, I have also just started playing this game. For those who haven't heard about it, Moonkarts is an arcade racing game built on Hive blockchain and it has an awesome 3D graphics interface that beats most of the other games in the same genre. The game is still in its alpha phase, but looking at its addictive HD high FPS Graphics, gameplay style, well-decorated and detailed UI and reward coin system, I think this game does have the potential to cater to a large audience And grow immensely in the future. The game receives its initial player base from the Hive blockchain on which this game is built upon and if you are bored playing with sloppy and boring 2D card games, you may want to try this game out for fun.
Moonkarts is for now a web browser-based game that can be played online in Arcade Colony, which is a web-based platform where mainstream games like Splinterlands and Genesis League Goals are listed. It is a platform to launch any type of web3 game with a friendly environment and an existing user base. This platform also supports the creation or addition of tokens and digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning and Governance of the game.
Moonkarts is the latest release from the house of Arcade Colony and within days of its launch, the game has earned thousands of players who are actively playing this game and I am also glad to join this game and be a part of it.
Game Requirements
Now, if anyone reading this is interested in playing this game, here are the requirements for playing this game.
- You must have a Hive account and the Keychain extension or app.
You must have an Invennium Account. After you create your account, you will then have to bind your Hive account when playing first time, simply by performing a transaction on Keychain.
You must have 1 NFT of type Driver Card and 1 NFT of type Kart card to play the single-player mode.
- In order to play the multiplayer mode, you must have a minimum amount of Script tokens to Produce Fuel, which is an important in-game asset. Script tokens can be bought or traded in Hive-Engine.
- In order to increase in-game rewards when playing in multiplayer mode, you must have a certain amount of colony tokens staked in your wallet. It is also available on hive-engine for buying, selling or trading.
How to Begin step-by-step
Now, in case you want to start playing the game. Follow the steps I stated above - Create a Hive Account -> Create an Invennium Account -> Buy a kart and a Driver and maybe a few Gear upgrades and start playing the Single player mode first. Now let’s find more about the Kart and Driver below.
KART and DRIVER NFT
In order to start playing Moonkarts, a player must need at least 2 things - A Kart and a Driver NFT. Now before you leave, the NFTs only cost a fraction and won't be denting your pockets if you are planning to spend a minimum to enter the game, in fact, I bought my first Kart NFT for only 0.13$ and the Driver NFT also for only 0.13$ price. Anyway, in order to get your hands on a Kart NFT and a Driver NFT, you have 2 options as follows.
Marketplace
You can purchase individual NFTs of your choice within the Moonkart marketplace, where other players list their NFTs for sale. You can also as well list your owned NFTs later for sale. The cards start from a mere 0.12$ and you can easily find a Kart, a Driver and a handful of upgrades for under 2-5$ just like I did.
Centauri Packs
You can also buy CENTAURI Packs directly from the shop section and try your luck finding those Kart and Driver NFTs. Now, each of those Centauri packs contains 5 NFT cards and you can buy these packs using Scripts tokens or Credits as a payment option.
GAMEPLAY
Now, once you possess at least 1 Driver NFT and 1 Kart NFT, you are eligible to play the single-player mode in the game. It is completely free-to-play mode whereas on the other hand, in order to play the multiplayer mode, you will need Fuel, the amount of Fuel Depends upon your Kart preset. The lower the NFT number and rarity of Kart and Driver NFT card, the lower will be its Fuel Consumption in multiplayer mode and vice versa. Now, in order to produce Fuel and to perform the Claim Fuel activity, you have to click on the Auto Vault Button, located on the Left side. In the Auto Vault, you can stack your unused NFT cards that are not selected in any preset along with Script tokens to produce Fuel, where you would need one NFT card for every 2 Script ratio.
Now moving on, you can also see your Stats in the left middle section, displaying different parameters like Health, Speed, Handling and Acceleration. Now for me, I have deposited 5,000 Credits into the game to buy the minimum NFTs and learn all the basics about the game. Luckily I have spent less than 1k Credits / 1$ to buy A Driver, A Kart and 5 Kart gear upgrades. Now I will be spending some time racing in the Single-player mode and learn about Karts, Driver and those Gears more and then hopefully I will invest a bit more if I like the game.
Earnings
After you spend some time in the single-player mode, learning all the basics about the game and speeding those wheels on tracks for a while, when you are ready for the big multiplayer tracks, then you would probably want to focus on the COLONY token, which is the reward token that you earn in multiplayer mode. The Colony token is also the only Governance token of the Arcade Colony platform. This token is not a requirement to play the Moonkart game but is required to earn a higher amount of rewards based on the same performance in the multiplayer mode. For those who play Splinterlands, the Colony token just works like an SPS token in the Splinterlands game where the the higher amount of COLONY you stake in your wallet, the more Colony tokens you earn from the Multiplayer mode. The more Colony stake you have, the more multiplayer or Rating will be applied to your account, boosting your earnings by up to 20x! So, when you are performing well in multiplayer, ranking higher and building a good rating, you might want to increase your Colony token stake more in order to earn more from your in-game achievements.
