I guess by now most of you already know about the Moonkarts game. Yes, our Hive blockchain is becoming a new destination for web3 games and the newest addition to its gaming section is the Moonkarts by Arcade Colony. Now if you have played or at least have taken a peek inside the game, you have to admit that this game is a total mayhem. Who would have thought that we would be having a full-fledged 3D racing game with all the features of a web3 game on Hive so soon? But yes, it's a reality now and if you haven't been playing Moonkarts, you are absolutely missing out on all the fun.
First of all, this game is launched with the play2earn feature, so if you can master the tracks and perform well against other players, then you can earn crypto rewards in the form of Colony tokens. You will also be owning your in-game cards, the ones you get from opening Centauri packs or buying directly from the market and can sell or trade them in the market. As the game has only launched, if the game becomes a hit (which I strongly believe), we can make amazing gains from the cards or packs we hold in the future, just like what we have witnessed with old edition splinterlands alpha or beta edition. I personally think this game has a huge potential to win people’s hearts with its breathtaking gameplay, amazingly crafted gameplay system and earning mechanism. Though I have only started to learn the game and invested a little so far, I am already excited about going deep into the game and right now thinking of building a great kart to be competitive in multiplayer, where the real rewards are hidden.
Anyway, as I am gradually learning about the game basics, I have also started sharing my knowledge and experience with you all. In order to understand all the basics of the game which will help you to invest effectively to buy cards and make a good kart for yourselves, I have started writing a Moonkarts tutorial series. In my previous 2 posts, I have discussed all the basics about the Karts and Tech Cards (Car Parts) and moving on, in today’s post, I will be talking about the Accessories in Moon Karts, which is another important aspect and a must learn to build a good and race-worthy Kart. So, if you are interested, let’s jump in without any further ado.
Now, when it comes down to racing professionally in the Moon Karts game, customizing your kart is not just about aesthetic looks, it is actually about gaining an advantage over other competing players on the race track. Apart from Tech cards, which definitely boost the stats of your kart, Kart accessories also play a pivotal role here. There are a total of 3 different types of Accessories that exist in MoonKarts - antennas, wheels and exhaust pipes and no, they do not just look cool on your Kart, they also provide decent performance boosts on your Kart, which can make a big difference while in a race. So, Let us break down all these accessories below and find out how they impact your kart’s overall performance.
Antennas
As I said above, Antennas are not there just for decoration, they enhance your kart’s maneuverability, thus making turns and navigation smoother.
Common– Basic antennas offer a +1% handling boost to your kart.Rare– Aerodynamic antennas provide a +2% handling boost to your kart.Epic– Futuristic antennas grant a +3% handling boost to your kart.Legendary– Unique and expertly designed antennas deliver a +4% handling boost to your kart.
Wheels
Wheels look cool on cars and give a premium feel to their overall looks. But in Moonkarts, choosing the right wheels can improve your kart’s acceleration and thus, they give you better control at high speeds and while taking sharper turns.
Common– Standard wheels offer a +1% acceleration boost on your kart’s existing stat.Rare– High-performance wheels give a +2% acceleration boost on your kart.Epic– Advanced wheels with superior grip provide a +3% acceleration boost to your kart.Legendary– The best wheels offer a whooping +4% acceleration boost to your Kart’s stats.
Exhaust Pipes
Who would not love to have fire-breathing exhaust pipes in their racing cars? But not just for show, in Moonkarts, exhaust pipes also impact your kart’s speed and help you to maintain top velocity throughout the race.
Common– Regular exhaust pipes enhance the speed of your kart by +1%.Rare– Sporty exhaust pipes increase the speed of your kart by +2%.Epic– High-performance exhausts boost the speed of your kart by +3%.Legendary– The ultimate exhaust pipes provide a whooping +4% speed boost to your kart.
Balancing Customization and Competition
Please keep in mind that while accessories do add a little bit of advantage to your Kart, they do not overpower the game. The boosts they provide are very decent, ensuring the fact that skill and strategy are still the most important factors in winning races. Here is what you have to keep in mind before designing your race Kart.
- Balanced Boosts – All these accessories only add a small percentage of increment to your kart, which means that adding one or two accessories will not make or break a race.
- Strategic Customization Choices – As a Player, you can experiment by mixing and matching accessories with your kart to enhance their preferred racing style, whether that is speed, handling or acceleration.
- Personalization – Apart from just performance, by upgrading your kart with different types of accessories, you can practice, master and then show off your unique styles on the track - whether it's speed, control or quick acceleration.

Moon Karts has crafted the gameplay mechanics very beautifully while respecting the player’s skills being only dependent on card powers. In this game, the right accessories will surely give you a slight edge, but it is ultimately up to your skills to win the trophy. So, make sure to learn about all the different types of Tech Cards and Accessories and test them on the race track to find out which set of cards suits you best.
