Today I had a battle in Splinterlands that I was sure I would lose but against all odds I managed to win so I will share it with you.
See the Battle
This is the battle I was talking about and it may seem like both sides were tied when it comes to damage, in fact I believe I have more damage than my opponent, but the problem is not that but the cards my opponent used that are very problematic, especially the one in the first position since it is literally a machine for dodging attacks and to make matters worse my opponent has 4 cards that will make it even worse to face.
Why is Void Dragon so difficult to defeat?
The Void Dragon is a monster that has a great amount of speed, but what makes it a difficult target to hit are its Flying and Phase abilities.
The Flying ability increases by +25% its chances of dodging melee and ranged attacks from monsters that do not have the Flying ability.
The Phase ability gives the Void Dragon the possibility of dodging magical attacks, the +25% dodging from the Flying ability also applies to magical attacks.
With these 2 abilities, it has a great ability to dodge all types of attacks and this makes it a very difficult target to hit. In addition, my opponent also used 4 cards that will help dodge even more.
These cards are the summoner Quix the Devious and the monsters Supply Runner, Chaos Dragon and Countess Sinash.
The Summoner Quix the Devious will help the Void Dragon by decreasing the speed of all my monsters by -1.
The Supply Runner Monster will help the Void Dragon by increasing the speed of all my opponent's monsters by +1, including the Void Dragon, so its chances of dodging are increased.
The Chaos Dragon monster will help the Void Dragon by applying the Blind ability to my monsters, which means my monsters will have a +15% chance of missing attacks.
The Countess Sinash Monster will help the Void Dragon by increasing the speed of all my opponent's monsters by +1.
In short, these cards will buff the Void Dragon and nerf my cards, and if you watch the battle, you'll realize how powerful this combination is and how the Void Dragon dodged countless attacks. To be honest, I've lost count, but it was dozens of times.
In addition to the Void Dragon, there was also the Chaos Dragon, which also had a good chance of dodging attacks. With the increase in speed and the Blind ability being applied to my monsters, not only the Void Dragon and the Chaos Dragon were a problem, because all of my opponent's monsters had a good chance of dodging my attacks, and this made the battle even more difficult, even though my attack was slightly superior to my opponent's.
On the other hand, I wasn't far behind either. I may not have an incredible card like the Void Dragon to defend myself, but I could also use the summoner Quix the Devious to nerf the speed of my opponent's monsters, and I also had the Chaos Dragon to apply the Blind ability to them.
This was a war to see who could dodge the most attacks while still being able to cause the most damage possible. Even though my opponent was superior at dodging attacks, I managed to win even though I believed I wouldn't be able to.
I have to admit that this was a satisfying victory and made the taste of my SPS winnings even tastier and above all it was a fun battle to watch and that's why I like Splinterlands so much, even though I play several battles a day I still manage to be surprised by each one and at the same time have a lot of fun with the game.
