Giant Alpine Skink, a Defense for all Attacks

in #hive-1466206 days ago

When it comes to defending in the first position, the Giant Alpine Skink is one of the best options among the current Soulbounds cards and in this post I will tell you why.

It has been several months since the current Soulbounds cards were released, in total there were 43 cards and among them there are cards that are very useful and others that are not so useful, but the Giant Alpine Skink is certainly a card that you will want to have in your collection because in addition to having a powerful attack, it is also an excellent defense.

The Giant Alpine Skink is a monster from the Water deck, its attack type is melee and it has 3 abilities: Shield, Phase and Stun.

Let's start by talking about its abilities because they are what make it an even more incredible card.

  • The Shield ability makes the Giant Alpine Skink take only half the damage caused by melee and ranged attacks. This is a great defensive ability and since monsters with melee and ranged attacks are very common in battles in Splinterlands, this ability will be of great help in battle.

  • The Phase ability allows the Giant Alpine Skink to dodge magic attacks. Since the Giant Alpine Skink has good speed, it is the type of monster that is not uncommon for it to dodge attacks, so the Phase ability will be very useful for it.

  • The Stun ability allows the Giant Alpine Skink to have a 50% chance of applying Stun to the monster it hits, and monsters with Stunned are unable to attack or use any ability for 1 round.

In addition to having great defense and great attack, the Giant Alpine Skink has a good chance of dodging attacks from enemy monsters and can also Stun them, so the Giant Alpine Skink can give players a great advantage because dodging attacks and applying Stunned makes a big difference in battle.

To make the Giant Alpine Skink even better, a good choice of summoner is Cryptic. Cryptic is a legendary summoner from the water deck and his role is to decrease the speed of all enemy monsters by -1 and apply Blind to them.

  • The Blind ability causes all enemy monsters to have a +15% chance of missing their attack.

In addition to decreasing the speed of enemy monsters and applying Blind, Cryptic can also grant abilities to the player's monsters, these abilities are: Retaliate, Enfeeble, Poison and Expose.

  • The Retaliate ability causes the monster to have a 50% chance of counterattacking when it receives a melee attack.

  • The Enfeeble ability causes the monster to reduce the melee attack of the monster it attacks by -1.

  • The Poison ability causes the monster to have a 50% chance of poisoning the monster it attacks and poisoned monsters receive 2 damage at the start of each round.

  • The Expose ability allows the monster to remove the abilities Forcefield, Lookout, Reflection Shield, Shield, Void, Void Armor, Cleanse or Immunity after hitting with an attack. Each attack removes 1 of these abilities and the ability Immunity will always be the first to be removed.

Remember that the summoner Cryptic only grants these abilities to 2 of the player's monsters and the player must choose between Retaliate and Enfeeble or Poison and Expose.

In my opinion, both are very good for the Giant Alpine Skink, so it will depend on which strategy you are going to use.

With these combinations, the Giant Alpine Skink will become an even more incredible monster in battle and I am sure that you will not regret having it in battle.
