When it comes to the Going the Distance Rule, the Fire deck is one of my favorites for it because of its ranged monsters.
Going the Distance is a rule that makes the player use only ranged monsters in battle, this means that the use of melee and magic attack monsters are prohibited with the exception of those that also have a ranged attack, so if a monster has a melee and ranged attack it can be used in battle or if a monster has a magic and ranged attack it can also participate in the battle.
There are several strategies for this rule but since I don't rent many cards my strategies are limited and the one I have been using for the Going the Distance rule involves the Fire deck.
See the Battle
Okay, let's talk about strategy and as I mentioned before, mine depends on the fire deck and its monsters. I try to focus on speed because attacking first gives me a big advantage in battle and also because it helps my monster in the first position to dodge more attacks.
In this battle, in addition to the Going the Distance rule, there is also the High Five rule that allows the player to use a maximum of 5 monsters in the battle, remembering that this number does not include the summoner, only the monsters.
For my strategy to work, 5 monsters are enough and for the battle I selected Gargoya Devil, Molten Ash Golem, Lava Launcher, Supply Runner and Countess Sinash. As a summoner, I selected Conqueror Jacek.
Gargoya Devil will be in the first position and the reason I chose this monster in this position is because it has the Close Range ability that allows it to attack in the first position and also because it has the Flying ability that increases the chances of it dodging melee and ranged attacks from monsters that do not have the Flying ability by +25%. So I'm betting that it will dodge many attacks since it has this ability and I will also increase its speed a lot.
Molten Ash Golem is in the second position and it also has the Close Range ability. I selected it in this position because it has a lot of health and will also reduce the health of my opponent's monsters with its Weaken ability.
Lava Launcher is in the third position and also has the Close Range ability. I selected it in this position because it has a good amount of shield but since it is one of my strongest monsters I didn't put it in a position in front because I want it to cause as much damage as possible while it can. I was going to leave it for last but since the other monsters don't have the Close Range ability I left it in the third position.
Supply Runner is in fourth position and he does not have the Close Range ability but he does have the Swiftness ability which will increase the speed of my monsters by +1.
Countess Sinash is in fifth position and she also does not have the Close Range ability but she does have the Swiftness ability which will increase the speed of my monsters by +1.
My strategy is basically to increase the speed of my monsters as much as possible so that I can attack first and have the advantage and also to increase the chances of them dodging attacks.
Summoner Conqueror Jacek will increase the speed of my monsters by +2 and also grant them the Scattershot and Piercing abilities.
The Scattershot ability makes my monsters attack randomly and the Piercing ability makes them deal excess damage to the shield in the monsters' health.
It was not an easy battle because my opponent also had great cards, but in the end I came out victorious.
