Today marks 7 days since I joined a guild and that means I'll finally be able to buy Gladius Cases from the guild store and get my first Gladiator Cards.
I've mentioned in other posts that when I used to play Splinterlands, I never paid much attention to Brawls, so I'd never participated in one because I didn't think it was interesting to just earn merits to buy Gladius Cases and earn Gladiator Cards because they would only be useful in Brawls, so it would be an effort that wouldn't really reward me and I was completely wrong.
After trying my first Guild Brawl in Splinterlands I realized that they are a lot of fun, so even if I didn't get any SPS as a reward they would still be fun battles to participate in and the Gladiator Cards are great to use and also very powerful. The first reason I was wrong about Brawls was this, fun.
The other reason I was wrong about Brawls in the past is that nowadays Gladiator Cards can be used in ranked battles and that was my biggest regret since by not participating in any Brawls in the past, I fell way behind in the Gladiator Card levels and only now am I trying to catch up.
Of course, earning SPS is also a great incentive and I would be lying if I said I didn't love receiving extra SPS in my account, especially because I joined a Guild with Tier 4 Brawls, so my SPS gain in Brawls is very good.
In the last Guild Brawl I participated in, I earned 75.25 SPS and considering my earnings in ranked battles, that's a great amount and if I multiply it by 6x which is the amount of Brawls in 1 month, then in the end it's a good extra money in my pocket.
In addition to the SPS, I also gained merits, and in the last Brawl I got 5,029 merits, and if I add them to the merits I gained by opening chests, I have a total of 12,717 merits, which will be enough to open 6 Gladius Cases.
Since I don't have any Gladiator Cards, whatever comes my way is a bonus, but I hope to get a Quora Towershead at level 1, it's very powerful and will be a great help in my next Guild Brawls and also in my ranked battles.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the Quora Towershead, but I did get some great cards, and 2 of them are Gold Foils, so they start at a higher level and will also give me a +10% bonus in ranked battles.
I didn't expect to get a good deck right from the start because I know it depends on luck and also because I need a large amount to evolve the Gladiator Cards since even at level 1 they are useful and powerful, but at higher levels they are even more useful and powerful.
Another Guild Brawl started today in Splinterlands so I will soon open more Gladius Cases and I will gradually increase my collection of Gladiator Cards. Soon I will also open more Loot Chests in the rewards store so I will receive more merits and that means more Gladius Cases and I hope that by the new year I will get my Quora Towershead.
