Breaking away from my routine of posting about Rising Star Game , today I'm going to talk about Splinterlands and my progress in the game.
In my last post about Splinterlands I talked about my experiment with the game in which I was renting 90% of all cards at maximum level to try to reach the top 50 on the leaderboard, but I gave up because I made some mistakes and believed I wouldn't be able to reach any of those positions. Since the cost was too high, I just rented the cards I always rent in every season and my rating went down a lot.
I'm in the Champion 3 league with a 3960 rating and in position 308 on the leaderboard. For those who didn't follow my experiment, you can read more about it in the post: Opening 480 Chests and My Strategy for Champion League
What mistakes did I make?
To be honest, it was only 1. My mistake was buying energy and opening chests at the beginning of the season, which gave me a lot of energy to play. However, at the beginning of the season, battles are very competitive, so my win rate was low. I had to spend 400 energy to reach Champion 1, and if I wanted to get into the top 50, I would need at least a 5000 rating. The season was almost over, and I didn't have much energy left to fight. Since I didn't want to spend another 17,000 DEC to try to reach the top 50, I gave up and decided to try another season. I'll wait until it's close to the end to use all the extra energy. For now, I'm just accumulating Glint so I can open as many chests as possible when I do this experiment again.
One disadvantage I noticed when playing in the Champion 1 league and trying to reach the top 50 was that I have a big disadvantage in some battles because of the gladiator cards since mine are at a low level and the players who are in the highest positions already have them at the maximum level or very close to that level, so I need to increase the level of mine as quickly as possible and I will open 25 Gladius Cases.
To increase my chances of getting legendary cards I will use the Blood Stone, it will double my chances of getting a legendary card.
25 Gladius Cases + 125 Blood Stones cost me a total of 57,000 merits, luckily I got a lot of merits by opening the chests so this experiment was not a total waste since I learned a valuable lesson and also managed to recover a good part of my investment since I was gaining a lot of SPS in the battles.
It seems like it's worth using Blood Stones because with just 25 Gladius Cases I got 4 legendary cards and luckily they were great cards that I didn't have yet.
It will probably take me a few seasons to repeat my experiment because I want to increase the levels of my gladiator cards just in case, and I also want to accumulate more Glint to get as much energy as possible. As soon as I decide to do it again, I'll make a post to show whether or not it's worth spending so much on renting a bunch of cards at the maximum level.
I also decided to increase my position with LEO Tokens, I recently saw a big increase in their price and I'm going to take advantage of the fact that the value has decreased a bit and increase my position by staking another 500 LEO.
I managed to buy it for 100 Swap.Hive and I believe that was a great value.
Now my stake is 1010 LEO, I hope the value doesn't go up too quickly because I still plan to buy more by the end of the year.
