Still remember I called for an offline meeting at Shenzhen back in early 2023, I met 2 people in person on Hive CN community, it was the very first time that I met people on Hive in person, all of us had a really good time with each other, plus we made a big noise on the community, too.
Many people felt the meeting was good and exciting, they wish they could join for sure, however, China is just too big, some people are living few thousand KM apart to us, it’s impossible to ask all oh em come Shenzhen to join the meeting.
Before the offline meeting season 2 last weekend, I tried to call for another meeting again in the past one and half year, unfortunately everyone in Shenzhen is bloody busy, oops, sounds I am the busiest guy among them, I travelled to the New York, Nuremberg, London x 2 between 2 offline meeting in the past 18 months.
Even worse, many people whom working in company for 15+ years left, now I am the only one who can take care the daily sales coordination, I don’t even dare to apply for the sick leave when I get cold / flu, etc… This year I don’t have to travel anymore, but my boss does, he just returned from the US business trip in 12 Aug (he went there for nearly 3 weeks, how tired is he though)
It wasn’t easy for me to organize the season 2 offline meeting, need to ask this this this guy and that that that guy if he or she can make it, thank God last week people is less busy, so am I, the peak season is almost end, we have got less work to take care soon.
Since the people whom joined the offline meeting are living in different district in Shenzhen, plus some people needed to work still during weekend, thus, they felt headache upon the assemble point. But I didn’t think it’s an issue at all.
Why didn’t we just meet at my home first then we go out together for dinner once everyone arrives? We departed around 7 pm, expected many people waiting for the seat for dinner at that time. But it makes no different to us as some mate prepared a banner for the offline meeting.
During the seat waiting we had taken a lot of pictures with the banner, many people on the street stared at us, probably they though that was some company event. No No No, that was our Hive offline event. Wish they could understand more about the blockchain social network one day, oops, I almost forgot, the China government had banned the crypto these years. People whom play the crypto in China can only always keeping their head low. What a tragedy.
I can see that the Hive is much quite in 2023 and 2024, we were much more active back in 2020-2023 during the pandemic lock down, what’s wrong with people on Hive? Where did they go now? Anyway, wish the seasons 2 offline meeting can at least invigorate people in CN back, that’s all I can do for hive at the moment.
