Sorry for not making my post on liketu.com as I have trouble to post on the website today @elmerlin

Supposed I should have made this post at the morning as today is my first day of Chinese New Year Holiday, unfortunately I got some conflict with my mom when I was nearly finished the post then I went mad and just close my PC, ended up we had a big brawl with each other, atmosphere went super bad then suddenly both she and me went to our bedroom and closed the door to sleep.

After I woke up I realized that I didn't save a draft of the post before I close my PC then I need to write the post from scratch...

Writing is kind of funny stuff, you should write the things in your mind immediately, if you don't, your inspiration gone then you will find that it's more difficult to write later on.

Oops, sorry, too many bullshit, let's cut to the chest, I am going to show you my trip with my wife in Osaka back in May 2017. I was still the Marco Polo club member back to that time so I could use their so called premium lounge in the airport before boarding. (I just put the lounge picture at the last as it's not so important)

Our had book a mid-night flight ticket, sounds we will have half day more to visit there if we do so, ended up I realized that I was just a super smart ass, it was about 6am when we arrive the airport in Osaka, all shops were yet to open, fortunately the train did, otherwise we might need to stay in the airport for hours.

First we took the high speed train from airport to the downtown of Osaka then interchange the local metro out there, well, as we weren't going to stay at the hotel in this trip, we picked the hostel trying to experience how does it feel (pretending we were local Japanese? haha)

We did confirm which station we should go with the landlord of the hostel before we arrived which was helping us a lot, otherwise we would in big trouble, it was still too early when we arrived downtown of Osaka, our check-in time is 2:00 pm but it was only 9:30 when we were there, so we decided to go Dotonbori to take a look first.

In fact, we did have some trouble still when we arrived the local metro station in downtown of Osaka. I just went "what the hell when I saw their train map and absolutely no idea which line of the train we should take.

You know the Japanese people doesn't speak English (they don't like to speak even if they can) especially for the people in Osaka, sounds you are just a monster when you are trying to speak English to them. But no worry, I learnt some Japanese when I was in college, just don't expect I can speak fluent Japanese, but I could still handle the simple conversation for travel.

You guys can see that I was holding the super large luggage while I was asking for the direction inside the metro station, finally I was clear where should I take the train, and here we go, we couldn't wait to jump into the train.

Finally we arrived Dotonbori at 10:30 am, I still had to ask people how to get there on the street, people told us the direction and also tell us that shops maybe still closed until 11:00 / 11:30 am. As the man said, all shop were still closed and there was nobody on the street there, well, good chance for us to take pictures, felt like we own all the street of Dotonbori at the moment (sorry I think that many pictures of this trip were lost, I can only find about 80+ pictures of our trip in my PC, maybe there others still in my wife's phone, not sure)

Finally we started seeing the local people and some visitors on the street around 12pm, shops were keep opening at that time, then we tried to start our snack hunting, yeah, both my wife and I still got the very big luggage on the street and everyone started at us but we just didn't care. The Takoyaki and Kani Doraku is on to try list for sure, we first went Kani Doraku to try a crab stick (it was quite expensive) then I found a nice Takoyaki stall, the staff knew we were visitors and act super funny, he tried to make a pose for a shot with me when my wife was going to take a picture for me secretly so I ended up turn my head back looking to the camera as well.

We headed to the hostel after I have done for the Takoyaki as it was going to take another 30 minutes for the train, this is the first half day of our trip in Osaka.

Sort:

I remember speaking with some of the Japanese community at Steem Fest and they were very enthusiastic but also struggled with English. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that - we just used sign language and facial expressions more 😉

Yeah, this is funny, but the topics between us will be less 😅
The local people in Osaka is quite nice after they knew I speak some Japanese.

I tried to ask for the direction of the JR station to the old couple, they took us to the station, not just told us the direction, we talked to each other a lot on the way, but their “Kansai” sound is difficult for non Japanese speaker, Kansai sound is the advanced level in the Japanese test 😅😅😅
