In this opening photograph, you can see a line of relatively tall block buildings built along the main road.
Kinda hidden in plain sight among those copy-paste buildings, there is this much older villa from the Austro - Hungarian period of the city. I like these architectural contrasts. They look pretty cool in photographs and Pula offers plenty of them.
Here I zoomed in, so you can take a better look at some selected details.
After taking the previous photographs, when for no particular reason, I looked down, I noticed an interesting piece of insect architecture there on the ground
It was a simple, volcano-like tower built by the ants.
Here you can see a bit of pink that is kind of trending when it comes to this suburban architecture. It could be a clumsy attempt at beautification of unattractive parts of the city. I don't know, maybe this rose-tinted glasses effect can work sometimes.
Here you can see the lovely advert for a local fish restaurant.
I don't know what to tell you about this photograph. Just more buildings. Another restaurant. That's it.
I feel the same about this one. Just a mix of suburban architecture for you to enjoy.
Here, in the last shot of this post, you can see a rooftop detail from the buildings shown in the photographs that started today's quick tour through one small fragment of the city.
Pula is for me the nearest city, only about ten kilometers from where I live, and Veruda, the main protagonist of this post, is a neighborhood on the outskirts of Pula. It includes a nice variety of architecture and urban environments. Here you can find some typical uninspired block buildings mixed with picturesque mansions from the 19th and the first decades of the 20th century. You can come across streets with small family homes and villas, and then find yourself surrounded by large hotels near the sea. When it comes to photography, there is a lot to explore in Veruda, but yesterday, when all these photographs were taken, I didn't have much time so in today's post, I'll show you only some larger buildings along the main road that passes through all the neighborhoods on the outskirts of Pula and leads out of the city avoiding its center.
AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK
