Today I visited the old harbour town of Watchet on the Bristol Channel and about 8 miles from Minehead. The old harbour has changed so much over the years .It was once a very busy working port and claimed to have the second highest rise and fall of tides in England which meant the harbour was able to take in some large ships
The harbour now has been split into two making a marina on one side, as you walk along the esplanade all the boats can be seem in the mud as the entrance gate is either broke or never worked .Thus leaving the boats in the mud when tide out .
This a picture of one of the dredging boats used to suck and blow the mud out of the now marina but, as you can see all the mud comes back on the next high tide.
