Another weekend has come to an end. @flowerbaby and I were able to spend pretty much all of it together. The only thing that separated us for a bit was her having to work until 3 pm on Friday. Usually, she's there until 9 pm on Friday, so it was much better than normal. This gave us an extra day to do things.
We were both hungry when she got off of work on Friday, so we went to a local restaurant called Gonzoburger. It was their first day being open in over a month after a kitchen fire. I usually get a burger, but it was fish fry Friday, so I opted to try that and was not disappointed.
After our meal, we walked down the street to this place called Wandering Wing Meadery which was having its soft opening. We were lucky to get there before they ran out of the last of their mead. It's a small place and the guy still hasn't fully opened the meadery yet. We were one of the first around town to get to try and my goodness those drinks have a unique flavor. We tried four different meads and I'll definitely be going back once they have their grand opening and are fully prepared to serve the great city of Charleston.
Once we arrived back home, @flowerbaby decided that she wanted to cut the back of her hair shorter again. I am not sure how she managed to do it with just one mirror, but she did. It looks pretty great to me and I know that she's happier with the back not being quite so long now.
We were supposed to use 2 of our 4 free tickets to a Dirty Birds baseball game, but it got rained out Friday night. We were too tired to go Saturday and too busy on Sunday. I guess we will be going to a game next weekend since the season is close to being over and we must use these free tickets before that happens.
Saturday we went back to the newly remodeled bowling alley called River Alley. I've never in my life been to a bowling alley that was new. All of the ones around here are older than me. River Alley is very nice on the inside, but I don't think it warrants the games costing almost twice as much as the other bowling businesses. I don't think we would go back, simply for that reason. Also, because it is extremely busy on the weekends. Although, we did get lucky by going pretty much as soon as they opened, no crowds yet.
On the way home from bowling, we stopped to visit with my mom for a bit and also to gather the new rug that she got me for free from Wayfair. This thing is so soft and I love the design. It pairs perfectly with the grey couch that she got me a few weeks ago. Thanks so much, mom!
Saturday evening we drove out into a rural area to eat at this country cooking restaurant called Top Spot. Then we stopped at Dairy Queen on the way home and finally got to try their new Blizzard flavors. I went with Cinnamon Roll and she got Pumpkin. Both were insanely good and well worth going to try.
Sunday morning we got up early and went to a breakfast buffet across the street. We were some of the first people to show up and had a yummy meal. It was a great way to start the final day of this past weekend.
Sunday's most exciting thing was the University of Charleston Men's Soccer match versus WV Wesleyan. There were barely over 100 people in attendance, but at least the tickets were free. I was surprised that they do not charge to get into the game. It was the first time we ever went to a soccer game together. I had a ton of fun and she enjoyed watching when goals were scored, although we sat in direct sunlight pretty much the entire game. The final score was 5-1 and we witnessed a UC win. This was mostly due to Wesleyan having a player get a red card in the first half, so they played most of the game a man down and gave up two penalty kicks as well.
In between all of this, we watched movies and tv shows together. We watched quite a bit, but three stood out the most to me. Fall, which I already made a whole video about here. Also, Beast and Monster Hunter. Beast was nearly as thrilling as Fall and Monster Hunter was pretty cool too. Of course, we also watched the 4th episode of House of the Dragon (was that a porno?) and also started this show called Devil in Ohio.
All in all, it was a fine weekend. We got to do a ton of fun stuff and best of all we were together. I'm already looking forward to next weekend.
Thanks for reading about our weekend and looking at some photos to show you a bit of what we did.
