When @flowerbaby asked me if it would be okay if she brought over a Christmas tree to my apartment, my immediate answer was "Of course you can."
Although my apartment is pretty small, I still have a tin bit of room for a Christmas tree, but barely. You may ask yourself, how is this your all's first Christmas tree together despite it being your third Christmas together? It really just boils down to the fact that I felt I didn't have room for one. I guess I just didn't have quite the imagination that she does because we were able to make it happen.
Thursday night she was out shopping at several stores after work. She found some really great decorations and a tree that came with lights. I could tell how excited she was because when she got home she was instantly working on making more decorations, some with photos of us together.
She had to be very patient though since we wouldn't actually get to put the tree up until late Friday night. Somehow, after working 11am-9pm, she came home with enough energy to start decorating. She didn't even wait to eat dinner first and instead saved that as her reward for finishing the decorations.
I must say, the tree turned out pretty perfect. There are plenty of cool decorations all over it. The lights are colorful and provide some nice holiday vibes in my apartment. Plus the best part of all, she is so happy that she and I finally have a Christmas tree together. So am I!
My favorite decoration on the tree by far is the mouse later. @flowerbaby and I have an inside joke about mice/rats, so it was the ideal find to have displayed on our new tree. I can't believe she got lucky enough to discover it among the many decorations for sale at the stores. I think it's totally cute and suits us well.
You may also see the two stockings on either side of the tree. She didn't skimp on festive decorations, that's for sure. There is no denying the fact that she loves Christmas. I do too but tried to ignore that for a few years for whatever reason.
Are you putting up a Christmas tree this year? If so, have you already done it? I'd love to see some other people's Christmas decorations, so feel free to comment below with photos of your tree.
We still need to go get a tree skirt for it, but we will have that done before the weekend is over. The one she purchased turned out to be way too small for the new tree and we instead put it under our tiny little Halloween tree.
Now I finally have a place to store Christmas gifts other than my closet. It's been several years since I've had a Christmas tree.
