The Sinulog festival has been a landmark celebration in Cebu City every third Sunday of January in honor of the Sto.Niño (child Jesus). In preparation for the fiesta, the sto.Niño church holds activities like processions, fluvial parades, and such. A nine days novena masses also held at the church before the big day. Grateful to be able to complete the nine days.
After two years hiatus, the celebration is now finally celebrated just like usual. It's glad to see devotees gathered again in honor of Sto.Niño. Rain or shine, the church was still filled with devotees just to be able to attend the holy novena mass.
So, yesterday, I and my sisters, together with Babi, attended the solemn foot procession. It was a three to four hours and almost six kilometers foot procession. Thank God the weather was good. It didn't rain at all.
We all got hungry after the procession, so we headed to Robinsons Galleria. We had our early dinner there, then went home right after.
I am so happy that the festivities are back again though it isn't the same as it was years ago because of some changes I am glad that devotees and Cebuanos are still on the hype for the fiesta.
To my fellow Cebuanos, Viva Pit Senyor!!
